Simple Algae Home CO2 Scrubber - Part II Algae Cultures and Breeding In Part I we built a simple home CO2 scrubber using algae. I'm writing this instructable to demonstrate how to culture and cultivate algae using more or less laboratory style procedures but substituting some readily available items for more traditional laboratory glassware. I encourage you to experiment and understand how to successfully cultivate algae. The techniques and process outlined here will work for most algae strains. Please bear with me, this is a work in progress. Practical Guide to Free-Energy Devices - Chapter 10 There are two or three main objectives for people who create automotive devices – increasing the mpg performance and reducing the harmful emissions are the top two priorities, while running the vehicle on water alone is the aim of a few people. The first two objectives are readily achievable, but running a vehicle on water alone is not going to happen for almost everybody. This idea is peddled by con artists who sell worthless “plans”, claiming that these will run a vehicle on water for anybody who wants to construct these simple devices. This is just not true. You are welcome to download the "HydroStar" and "HydroGen" plans free from my web site: HydroStar and HydroGen. However, most experienced people looking at these plans are convinced that they could not possibly produce enough hydrogen/oxygen gas mix to run an engine.
Super-Natural: Green Shower & Graywater Reuse System Gray water is tricky to deal with. On the one hand, it is wasteful to send it back into the sewer systems along with the truly polluted waters found there. On the other hand, it cannot be drunk or used to bathe or shower without some process of filtration. Surreal Interpretations of Womanhood Photographed by Marjorie Salvaterra Drawing inspiration from her own life, photographer Marjorie Salvaterra has created a series of black and white tableaus of women that look a lot like a scenes out of an Italian film. These woman are HER. Through exaggerated gestures and surreal interpretations she explores the complexities of life, gender and age, that come together to reflect a universal idea of womanhood. Salvaterra gathered her friends, dressed them in gowns and wigs, so as to be non-specific and representative of every woman. In one scene, a woman stands naked in front of a packed theater.
How to make gift bags from newspaper When I bought something at a store recently, the clerk handed me my purchase in a bag made from a newspaper. I liked it very much and had to make some more—thus today's DIY recycled newspaper project: gift bags made from the Wall Street Journal. You can vary the dimensions, of course, but here's what I used to create a bag that's 5" tall, 4.5" wide, and 3" deep. Stack two sheets of newspaper on top of each other. Make A Cheap & Easy Solar USB Charger With An Altoids Tin Photos by Joshua Zimmerman The craftster behind the very popular $3 solar-powered emergency radio is back with a new awesome project: a cheap solar battery charger with a USB plug. Zimmerman wrote, saying that he saw a lot of small solar powered chargers being talked about over Earth Day, but there was a big problem: "They're all quite nice, but also quite expensive. I don't think I've seen any for less than $60, and I've not seen one that really suits my style." So, he came up with his own, using one of our favorite reusable items -- the ever wonderful Altoids tin.

Always wanted one of your own? Hell yeah! Outsider Art Now » MEHRDAD RASHIDI Untitled, u.d. © Henri Boxer Gallery Mehrdad Rashidi was born in the town of Sari in Northern Iran in 1963. At the age of 20 he fled Iran because of his strongly held political views and settled in Germany. In 2006, for no particular reason, he began to draw. He found it relaxed him and made him feel happy, he also thought of his homeland, his childhood and easier times in his life whilst he doodled on any piece of paper that came to hand. Using old notebooks, envelopes, shopping receipts and discarded advertising pamphlets, he gradually, in what seems to be an obsessive and compulsive surge of creativity, began to produce an extraordinary, and hauntingly beautiful body of work.
