Oh, Fransson! Today is my stop on the blog tour for the lovely and talented Jennifer Sampou's new fabric collection, Shimmer. Shimmer includes nature-inspired prints in beautiful earth tones, all with a little bit of irridescent, sparkling shimmer. Continue reading "Shimmer Fabric Blog Tour" » I really love the 14" center of the Aviatrix Medallion and I think it looks fantastic as a larger block. For these quilted pillow covers, I used 24" and 20" versions of the block. Continue reading "Aviatrix Pillows" » Oh Joy! I'm excited to announce the launch of the Oh Joy for Nod kids' bedding and decor collection! Inspired by Ruby and her transition to a big girl room, the collection is a limited-edition bedding and home decor line for kids. It includes baby, toddler, and kids' bedding, pillows, lamps, plush toys, rugs, and a curated collection of art to go with it all. The Sundae Best collection is inspired by Ruby's favorite food—ice cream—and how fun it would be to sleep surrounded by your favorite treat.

ormolu I've been scrapbooking. Actual pages and not just PL pages. But first my word. In December I was trying to figure out what my One Little Word was going to be. I've never really relied on my word throughout the year. Fabric Storage Box – Free Tutorial by Tina Craig + MIssouri Star Quilts I hope you enjoy this little fabric box tutorial. I thought it would be something we could make for teachers to put on their desks or for daycare, etc. A million uses come to mind which makes this tutorial and sewing project incredibly useful – practical. This handy storage box is simple enough to sew up in about an hour, which makes it perfect for a last minute hostess gift too. Fill it with cello-wrapped candy or baked goods!

notes from Terry Ann I had fun last weekend making some little woven baskets out of 2-1/2" batik strips. These baskets are often made out of paper such as magazines, newspaper, maps, potato chip bags etc. but I wanted to use fabric. I used interfacing to stiffen the strips and make them easy to weave. Materials needed: 20 strips 2-1/2" x 21" (I used precut batik strips) Note: One Bali Pop makes four baskets. 40 strips 1/2" x 20" (1/3 yd.) Dispatch From LA With an age of 4.5 billion years, “young” might not seem an appropriate word to describe our Moon. But tonight, you have an exceptional opportunity to see what astronomers call a “young Moon” — a slender crescent visible in the early evening sky. With New Moon having occurred early yesterday afternoon, only 2 percent of our satellite’s disk appears illuminated after sunset tonight. (Tomorrow evening, a 6-percent-lit lunar crescent hangs noticeably higher in the sky.) You should notice an ashen light faintly illuminating the Moon’s dark side.

Fabric Box Tutorial I hope you enjoy this little fabric box tutorial as much as I do. It is simple enough to complete in about an hour, which makes it perfect for a last minute hostess gift. Fill it with candy and you are ready to go! A friend gave me the pattern* a couple of years ago, but after I made the first sample, I lost the pattern!

ps i quilt: impromptu along. if y'all are looking for a fun summer quilt along, my friend, katy is hosting one using my impromptu pattern!!! (click HERE to see the announcement post.) impromptu is a pretty simple quilt to piece, but it's big. like 90 1/2" x 90 1/2" big. and sometimes when you're piecing a quilt that big, you need some extra motivation. insert the impromptu along. so, if you already have your impromptu pattern and fabrics, yayyy. if not, there's still plenty of time. we start on june 1st.
