Elm street life: DIY: Bow clutch sewing tutorial.
And fiiiinally... the tutorial you've been waiting for. This is my first real sewing tutorial - which scares me a bit, because I've never actually taken a sewing class, so I don't know all the terminology. What I do know is that I've learned to sew lots of things by reading tutorials, so hopefully I can make this simple enough that even you beginners can feel confident making a bag. And yes, a bag with a zipper! It can be done, I promise. There are plenty of photos, so hopefully that will help. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section and I'll be happy to clarify. **Also, please note except where I say, "Sew close to the edge," I am using a 1/2" seam allowance throughout. Ok, let's get started! 1. 2. 3. 4. Sometimes, at the end of this step, if my strap doesn't feel sturdy enough, I'll cut a thin strip of interfacing and tuck it inside the crease before sewing. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. WHEW!

Mini Wallet Tutorial Hi everyone! As promised, here is the tutorial for the tiny little wallets that fit just perfectly into the mini clutches from my first official pattern, The Infinity Tote. It's perfect for the minimalist (like me) who wants just enough wallet to cart around a few credit cards, a bit o'change, and some greenbacks. After lugging a huge diaper bag around for 8 years with everything but the kitchen sink, it's so nice to be able to grab a tiny tote when I'm running a couple of errands or spending a day playing tourist. It's also a great way to make use of extra little scraps you may have lying around, begging to be made into something useful and pretty. SEW Hip! I was commissioned by a close friend to make a set of rings for a surprise engagement and a set for wedding bands. I started off with solid wood blanks and a drill press. After making what I thought be a perfect ring, it broke after a couple weeks of wear. At this point I went back to the drawing board and started to research bentwood rings. This not only solved the issue of strength, but also allowed for the beautiful wood grain to show.
