Elm street life: DIY: Bow clutch sewing tutorial.
And fiiiinally... the tutorial you've been waiting for. This is my first real sewing tutorial - which scares me a bit, because I've never actually taken a sewing class, so I don't know all the terminology. What I do know is that I've learned to sew lots of things by reading tutorials, so hopefully I can make this simple enough that even you beginners can feel confident making a bag. And yes, a bag with a zipper! It can be done, I promise. There are plenty of photos, so hopefully that will help. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section and I'll be happy to clarify. **Also, please note except where I say, "Sew close to the edge," I am using a 1/2" seam allowance throughout. Ok, let's get started! 1. 2. 3. 4. Sometimes, at the end of this step, if my strap doesn't feel sturdy enough, I'll cut a thin strip of interfacing and tuck it inside the crease before sewing. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. WHEW!

Needle and Spatula: Roll-up Shopping Bag Sewing Tutorial I made this roll-up shopping bag earlier in the fall and had been meaning to make a tutorial for it, so the Sew Mama Sew Green Grocery Bag Challenge was a good excuse to finally get around to it. This bag is inspired by one my very talented friend Mandy made a year or two ago... I love the roll-up shopping bags that you take with you in your purse, so the idea of making my own was very exciting! The bag is made with a single layer of quilting weight cotton (unlined). This helps to keep it lightweight and small enough to roll up easily. I have gotten a ton of use out of the first one I made (on the right in the photos) so I am excited to have another one! the library tote tutorial Here's a fun tote bag project I thunk up (yes, thunk) the other day. Bentwood Rings This is my first Instructable, so I hope that I do not forget anything. I was commissioned by a close friend to make a set of rings for a surprise engagement and a set for wedding bands. I started off with solid wood blanks and a drill press. After making what I thought be a perfect ring, it broke after a couple weeks of wear. At this point I went back to the drawing board and started to research bentwood rings. This not only solved the issue of strength, but also allowed for the beautiful wood grain to show. 101 Handmade Easter Craft Ideas These simple handmade Easter tutorials and free printables will make any crafty person’s heart sing with joy!
