Urban Cityscapes Spray Painted on Cardboard Panels by EVOL German street artist EVOL (previously) is currently showing a number of new pieces at Jonathan LeVine gallery. The new works feature urban facades spray painted with the use of stencils on flat sheets of cardboard. Much like his outdoor graffiti, these stencils display an uncanny attention to detail, depicting light and shadow that transforms mundane surfaces of consumer packaging into fascinating, seemingly multi-dimensional pieces of art. The show runs through May 5th. China expat and traveller community blog Food No CNY is complete without a few plates of jiǎozi, particularly if you're in the North. And while you can certainly just hop down to the supermarket and pick up a package of frozen dumplings, making your own is a whole lot more rewarding. If you're not fortunate enough to have Chinese in-laws to lend a hand, constructing the suckers can be a bit of a challenge. Jen at Tiny Urban Kitchen has a great step-… I danced and filmed all over, including: Beijing, Chengdu, Xi'An, Lhasa (Tibet), Yangshuo, Zhangjiajie, Shanghai, Feng Huang, and Hong Kong. In some locations I had 100+ people gathered around my camera taking pictures and videos on their phones.

Quarante centimes awkward-puking-unicorn a demandé: Hello! I hope someone still comes around here and will see this message. What happened to 40cents? Why did you let it die? Was there no one to keep working on that blog in the whole team? Hi. Binary - it's digitalicious! How binary works: The binary number system (aka base 2) represents values using two symbols, typically 0 and 1. Computers call these bits. A bit is either off (0) or on (1). When arranged in sets of 8 bits (1 byte) 256 values can be represented (0-255). Using an ASCII chart, these values can be mapped to characters and text can be stored. It's not magic, it's just math!

diy guess who - almost makes perfect my brother and i have been into board games since we were little – and we still go hard with it. we do game night with friends and play games every chance we get. so i decided for his birthday last month we’d make him his own personalized guess who with all his friends and family and his longtime man crush sam rockwell. there were A LOT of hiccups while making what seemed to be not so difficult. like one after another. but luckily, if you want to try doing it on your own, you can learn from our mistakes. 01. start out by choosing who you’ll include in the board. you’ll have to spend a couple hours tracking down decent photos of people from their facebook pages. in photoshop, cut out everyones heads and add a colored background if you like. make the photoshop file slightly larger than the pegs so that you can trim down once attached. 02. print out three copies of each face. the third is for the bag. trim down.

Ask The VC February 2, 2010 1:11 PM Today, I learned that former classmate of mine at the University of Michigan has started a blog for startups dealing with intellectual property issues. Jill Bowman is a great person and her blog is not only informative, but is also written in her voice, not legalese. (Her husband says it’s too “girly” but I totally disagree). Jill promises to dish on IP “train wrecks” (her words) that she’s seen over the past decade and hopefully her wisdom can save some folks future headaches. She also promises to talk about costs savings in IP controversies and expose how some big firms are ripping off their clients.

How To Be A Successful Evil Overlord How to be a Successful Evil Overlord by Peter Anspach Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. OurielOhayon Every or nearly every single new service coming out to consumer has some sort of social layer where you need to "follow" people or topics in order to get fresh content updated all the time. That's how the web works today. It's not just about a frame and static content but a content stream of news and information coming your way: Facebook, twitter, pinterest, Flipboard, Pulse,…obviously but also all the new generation of games with social integration. Show me who you follow and i will tell you who you are. There is a major problem though: all the follow mechanisms in place are just dumb pipes with little intelligence. Colors of India Posted in Travel on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at 9:52 am After returning back from a well anticipated one-month trip to India, I realized what an impact this country had left on me. The second I got off the plane back home, I immediately noticed the luxuries that we all take for granted. I also noticed that we actually drive pretty well here in Miami.
