The Baked Mac and Cheese

The Baked Mac and Cheese
My favorite thing to eat, hands down, is noodles. Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai... whatever way you make it, I like it. But mac and cheese is high up there on the list, especially baked mac and cheese. Is there anything more comforting? First things first: cook the pasta. I always sneak a few into my mouth after draining it. Next up: the béchamel sauce. ...and milk. So, back to the butter. Whisk. Gradually pour in the milk and continue to whisk. Reduce the heat, add the cheese, and keep mixing that melty-yummy-goodness. Did someone say garlic? Your macaroni is probably growing impatient. I've been playing this trick on myself recently: substitute a portion of the pasta with veggies. I like using individual ramekins instead of one larger casserole dish, because it allows you to add in whatever veggies and spices you like without offending anyone else. The last (and most important) step: breadcrumbs. Pop the ramekins in the oven. The first bite. (Nothing more to say. 1.

Steak au Poivre - The Showstopper I have a comment on this comment, then I have a comment for the OP. To Amy: Removing to foil is simply a way to keep the steaks warm whilst resting (FOR 5 MINUTES AT LEAST… ALWAYYYS!). When the OP says remove to foil, he/she doesn’t mean to wrap them tightly. They mean to place them in a plate, and form a loose ‘covering’ of foil. This will simply trap some of the heat and allow it to remain warm, without trapping too much moisture. To the OP and to anyone else who decides to try ‘flambe’: Halloween Recipes: Upside-Down Pumpkin-Filled Chocolate Cupcakes I love orange and black food for a Halloween party, don't you? These upside-down pumpkin-filled chocolate cupcakes are so festive! Plus, it's a Paula Deen recipe, so you know it's got to be good (if not half of your daily caloric intake). Want to know how easy these are to make?

Sweet Potato Soup — Delishhh Monday, October 18, 2010 If you recently started reading my blog you might think that I just post soup recipes. That is not true. Homemade French Fries « Naturally Ella Why there is no need to purchase pre-made fries in the freezer aisle – in pictures and rhyme: One potato (find a potato) Two potato (cut the ends off) Three potato (cut slices) Peanut Butter Pie I made this pie today as a tribute to a fellow food blogger. One whom I've never met, but who's blog, In Jennie's Kitchen, I've been reading for longer than I've had my own. Tragically, her husband passed away this past Sunday...suddenly, of a heart attack. The food blog community immediately took to the internet, reaching out, wanting to know what they could do to help her. Amazingly, she posted to her blog this week, to talk about her husband and to ask her readers to make this pie today.

Epic Fish Tacos Every night this week, I have dreamt I was on a beach. White sands, clear blue water, frozen margaritas and the ultimate holiday luxury… fish tacos. There is honestly nothing better than sitting down to a vast table of salty, crunchy, gooey, citrusy fish tacos. Before retiring for a long snooze in the sun.I first discovered them on a trip to Harbour Island earlier this year and have been hooked ever since. Now, seeing we can't all go to the beach, I thought I'd bring the beach to us! Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries These cheesecake stuffed strawberries are the perfect dessert treat! Can I just say that I have died and gone to heaven. Cheesecake stuffed strawberries….how have I not made these before?!

Death By Oreo Cupcakes They are probably the best Oreo cakes I have ever tried. A lot of cake's that I have experimented with before are like a vanilla cake with bits of Oreo in them, which didn't really give them enough Oreo flavor. But these were a lot better. I used a dark chocolate fudge cake mix instead of just a regular chocolate cake mix, which went really well with the cookies and gave the cakes just a little more flavor. So, in this recipe there is Oreo's in the cake, in the frosting, and at the bottom is a Oreo surprise.

White Pizza with Spinach and Tomatoes With my last pizza creation, my chicken teriyaki pizza, I broke my pizza stone. I had got that stone from Pampered Chef a few years ago, and have never been thrilled with the results. I am kind of glad it broke, but it’s not like I intentionally threw it on the floor or something.
