Easy Raspberry Lemonade Easy Raspberry Lemonade I just can’t get enough fresh lemonade in the summer. It’s so fun to make with my son, and so easy. I sit him on the counter and he helps squeeze the lemons. He loves to be “mommy’s little chef.” I cherish when he tries to help out in the kitchen, although sometimes it can be stressful. King Arthur Flour – Baking Banter - StumbleUpon Love brownies. Love their shiny, flaky top that shatters into micro-thin shards that shower onto your fingers as you eat. Love their dark, gooey center. Blueberry Buckle Cake Blueberry Buckle Cake Today is a special day. It is Josh’s birthday and we have our “big” appointment. We find out what we are having today. Will our little pea be a boy or a girl?

Roy G. Biv Smoothies I’ve had a few requests over the last few weeks for some smoothie recipes because I let it slip that Betsy and I generally just have a big smoothie for breakfast everyday. Turns out our daily smoothie recipe is a mix between yellow, red, and indigo, but that’ll make more sense to you later. Smoothies can be so varied I really struggled for awhile on how to present a wide spectrum of recipes in one post. That was, of course, until I saw a guy riding a bike last weekend with a rainbow sticker on his backpack. When I saw the rainbow I thought, now those would be some awesome smoothies!

Gluten Free Pink Lemonade Cupcakes It is almost Spring Break time which means my normally sleepy little Florida beach town will get inundated with visitors – “spirited” collage students will wonder the streets, alabaster-skinned families from Minnesota will turn bright red on our beaches and most importantly, my g-kids arrive! Whenever the g-kids come they always cook up ideas for money making ventures and inevitably they want to have a Lemonade stand. Unfortunately all attempts at selling glasses of freshly squeezed Lemonade for 50 cents have been fiscal failures.

Homemade Tortillas Making soft delicious tortillas at home is surprisingly easy. In fact, once I started making my own suddenly all our dinners and lunches were rolled up in fresh tortillas. The dough is made from flour, shortening, water, and salt. I had all the ingredients on hand but the shortening.. which ended up only costing two dollars and has lasted through many many batches of tortillas. Considering how cheap the ingredients are and how delicious they taste it just doesn't make sense to pay for the much more expensive packaged ones. Green Tea Chocolate Balls It's a simple recipe to make green tea flavored chocolate balls, using white chocolate. The sweetness of white chocolate is well-balanced by the bitterness of green tea powder. Yield: Makes 12 balls

Black and White Chocolate Cheesecake Supreme Recipe I decided to buck tradition this year and I made a cheesecake for Thanksgiving instead of apple or pumpkin pie. Brandon and I both LOVE cheesecake and he insists that it’s more pie than cake, so in his mind I still made the traditional pie. I used my previous cheesecake recipe, (which IMHO is the best) but modified it by adding melted white and dark chocolate, a method I’ve seen in a bunch of other recipes.

Churros with Chocolate Dipping Sauce » toasty biscuit The other day my friend sent me a text and asked, “I want to try making doughnuts and want to make churros but they look difficult. Are they tricky to get right?!” I replied, “Nope! In fact, churros are the easiest doughnuts of all to make. Lemon Cupcakes Now…at the wedding reception, the limes and lemons in the tall vases were fun and whimsical and colorful, but after the bride and groom drove away, those of us who WEREN’T going on a fun, relaxing honeymoon had to figure out what to do with literally hundreds of limes and lemons. My mother-in-law tried VERY hard to get me to throw some into my suitcase, which I adamantly refused to do because a) I didn’t want unsweetened lemonade all over my clothes when we got home and b) now that the airlines so graciously allow us to pay for checked baggage, I figured I could buy my own dang lemons for another $25. Well, being the mother of seven boys that she is, she was not about to let me go home citrus-free, which led to quite a bit of back-and-forth banter.

Lemon Ricotta Pancakes I’m not sure why my tastebuds so closely associate lemon with spring – citrus is a winter fruit, after all, but its brightness I suppose reminds me of the sun coming out again. Lemon ricotta pancakes seem to be particularly springy – maybe because brunch becomes more common once the ground starts to thaw, with longer days, Easter and baby showers and people more eager to leave their houses and get together. Spring weekend mornings beg for pancakes. With a sweet-tart citrus kick and a light spring in their step, these lemon ricotta pancakes are a celebratory step up from the usual.

Teabags! Perfect cookie for a Tea Party! For my boss's birthday I made these shortbread tea bags... I was inspired when I saw some wooden tea bags as part of a kid's play food set - I thought hmmm one day I could do shortbread dipped in chocolate! I made little tags with cupcakes and used embroidery thread. I used a round icing tip to punch a little hole in each one before I baked so that I could thread it later. ps... shortbread recipe from: Source INSTRUCTIONS - click HERE and turn to page 55 & 56 Stress relief… When I am sad and stressed I just pick up my chin and grin and say…the sun will come out (SLAP! Not). Okay, where was I. Ah yes, being sad and stressed. When I am not having the best of days I used to follow a certain routine.
