Quantum theory reveals puzzling pattern in how people respond to some surveys. Researchers used quantum theory – usually invoked to describe the actions of subatomic particles – to identify an unexpected and strange pattern in how people respond to survey questions.

Quantum theory reveals puzzling pattern in how people respond to some surveys

By conventional standards, the results are surprising: The scientists found the exact same pattern in 70 nationally representative surveys from Gallup and the Pew Research center taken from 2001 to 2011, as well as in two laboratory experiments. Most of the national surveys included more than 1,000 respondents in the United States. "Human behavior is very sensitive to context. Physicists Create and Control a Large Quantum Mechanical System Built on Photons. A new study from Yale University shows that scientists can create and control a large quantum mechanical system built on photons, suggesting that they might be able to expand the role of photons in quantum information systems.

Light might be able to play a bigger, more versatile role in the future of quantum computing, according to new research by Yale University scientists. A team of Yale physicists has coaxed an unprecedented number of light particles, or photons, to behave quantum mechanically, or to assume more than one state simultaneously, such as “alive” and “dead.” L'amplituhedron ou la forme geométrique qui nous explique la composition de l'univers. Quantum mechanics

Quantum mechanics cannot predict the exact location of a particle in space, only the probability of finding it at different locations.[1] The brighter areas represent a higher probability of finding the electron. Quantum mechanics (QM; also known as quantum physics, quantum theory, the wave mechanical model, or matrix mechanics), including quantum field theory, is a fundamental theory in physics which describes nature at the smallest scales of atoms and subatomic particles.[2] Quantum mechanics gradually arose from theories to explain observations which could not be reconciled with classical physics, such as Max Planck's solution in 1900 to the black-body radiation problem, and from the correspondence between energy and frequency in Albert Einstein's 1905 paper which explained the photoelectric effect.

History[edit] In 1838, Michael Faraday discovered cathode rays. Where h is Planck's constant. Coulomb potential. String theory. String theory was first studied in the late 1960s[3] as a theory of the strong nuclear force before being abandoned in favor of the theory of quantum chromodynamics.

String theory

Subsequently, it was realized that the very properties that made string theory unsuitable as a theory of nuclear physics made it a promising candidate for a quantum theory of gravity. Five consistent versions of string theory were developed until it was realized in the mid-1990s that they were different limits of a conjectured single 11-dimensional theory now known as M-theory.[4] Many theoretical physicists, including Stephen Hawking, Edward Witten and Juan Maldacena, believe that string theory is a step towards the correct fundamental description of nature: it accommodates a consistent combination of quantum field theory and general relativity, agrees with insights in quantum gravity (such as the holographic principle and black hole thermodynamics) and has passed many non-trivial checks of its internal consistency.

Quantum. A photon is a single quantum of light, and is referred to as a "light quantum".

Quantum

The energy of an electron bound to an atom is quantized, which results in the stability of atoms, and hence of matter in general. As incorporated into the theory of quantum mechanics, this is regarded by physicists as part of the fundamental framework for understanding and describing nature at the smallest length-scales.

Etymology and discovery[edit] The word "quantum" comes from the Latin "quantus", for "how much". "Quanta", short for "quanta of electricity" (electrons) was used in a 1902 article on the photoelectric effect by Philipp Lenard, who credited Hermann von Helmholtz for using the word in the area of electricity. By Trinity Bourne Contributing writer for Wake Up World Prior to my kundalini awakening I had no knowledge of what kundalini energy was. Like a bolt out of the blue, one unsuspecting evening, I was taken by complete surprise by this life changing phenomenon. My story is testimony to the fact that whilst walking the path of spiritual evolution, there is a time, place and natural order for everything… Following the Soul It was the end of the summer about seven years ago. Kundalini rising Late one evening, I felt undeniably moved to lay upon a green and lilac blanket in the middle of the living room floor. As I let go, I was over come by a deep sense of peace. A feeling so profound came over me that words could only ever offer a signpost hinting at it’s fullness.
