Une passerelle est montée entre la bibliothèque numérique de la BNF et le projet Wikisource (oeuvres du domaine public ou sous licence libre) issu de Wikimedia/Wikipedia.
La Bibliothèque nationale de France (BNF) a signé un accord avec Wikimedia France. L’objectif est de favoriser l’accès gratuit à des transcriptions d’oeuvres tombées dans le domaine public issues de sa bibliothèque numérique Gallica. La branche française de Wikimedia compte exploiter ce morceau de patrimoine culturel public à travers Wikisource. Ce projet, datant de 2003, a pour but de mettre à disposition du public des retranscriptions d’oeuvres tombées dans le domaine public ou publiées sous licence libre (50 000 textes).
Au total, c’est un bouquet de 1400 textes en français issus de la BNF qui vont être intégrés sur Wikisource. La transcription et la reconnaissance automatiques des textes peuvent faire apparaître des erreurs par rapport à leur version originale. Thisisabore. Framasoft.
