I was surprised at first, but I think that I haven’t made my point clear enough, so here it is: I don’t have anything against meat, per say. I am not a vegetarian due to animal rights issues or environmental reasons, although there are arguments to be made from those perspectives as well. I am a vegetarian because all the studies we have found have pointed at the same conclusion: a whole foods, plant based diet will reduce your chances of having “diseases of the 1st world,” otherwise known as cancers, diabetes, heart disease, etc. There are even studies showing a veganish diet reversing the early effects of these diseases. I’ll give the naysayers the point that none of the studies show conclusively that a vegan diet is the way to go.
