Homemade Cajun Stewed Tomatoes - Cooking Louisiana. Homemade Cajun Stewed Tomatoes are delicious since we make them with fresh homegrown tomatoes (the most tasty tomato there is). I guess you could do this with store-bought tomatoes but I don't see the point if you're looking for maximum tomato flavor. I say that because most store-bought tomatoes have little real tomato flavor. 12 lg. ripe homegrown tomatoes 1 lg. onion chopped 1/2 bell pepper chopped 2 stalks celery chopped 2 cloves garlic chopped 1/2 cup green onions 2 bay leaves 1 tsp. salt 1 tbs. sugar 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper 2 tbs. butter or margarine water to boil tomatoes (to remove skin) Put the water to boil.

Note: you can do a few tomatoes at a time so you don't really need a pot big enough to hold all of the tomatoes. Make a small "X" at the bottom of each tomato then cut out the core. Sauté all the chopped vegetables in butter until just clear. Let cool and freeze in quart zipper-lock bags. Here's a few creole recipes with tomatoes. Low Carb Cauliflower Leek Soup Recipe. Quick and easy air-fried broccoli | Big City Mama. So I’m still having all kids of fun with my Philips Digital Airfyer — it’s quickly become one of my favourite kitchen appliances. I can’t stop won’t stop air-frying all the things.

While making a Gordon Ramsay recipe not that long ago, I was inspired to come up with an air-fried broccoli recipe of my own. Because I don’t know why, but I just can’t get enough of that roasted broccoli burp taste. I’m a weirdo, I know. I made mine straight up with just a dash of sea salt, but I think that any one of the variations below would provide some serious flava-flave to your meals. Air-fried broccoli 1 bunch of broccoli1 tbsp olive oil Preheat AirFryer to 190 (or not, it’s all good, but might add a couple minutes to the cooking time). Variations Prepare as above and then toss with: Honey balsamic – Mix 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar with 1 tbsp honey.Lemon garlic – Add 1-2 chopped garlic clove(s) to broccoli before frying. Many people just don’t know what to do with it and find it mushy and without flavor. I’m here to defend the eggplant and introduce you to a bite-size option that will have all of your friends raving about a new party favorite. Eggplant Parmesan has long been a standard option when faced with the question of what to do with eggplant. But it’s honestly, a lot of eggplant. Peel the thick skin of the eggplant with a Vegetable Peeler and then cub using a prep knife, like the Vegetable Knife (which just happens to be my favorite knife in the kitchen). I prefer to always salt the eggplant before actually putting it into a recipe.

A little tip for the dredging stations – make sure you have a towel nearby to constantly clean your fingers. These bite-sized appetizers came out of the oven smelling fantastic and, when put onto a platter with a bowl of marinara sauce for dipping, you have a perfect easy hors d’oeuvre. Print Recipe. Easy BLT Dip. Bacon makes everything better. At least that’s our opinion. There’s something about the smell, the crunch and of course, the taste. That said, I’m not a huge fan of a BLT sandwich. I’m not sure why, but it’s just not my thing. So, how do you get that BLT flavor in something other than a sandwich? How about in a dip? Bring this easy BLT Dip recipe to any party and you’ll be a hit, mainly because you walked into the room with two pounds of crumbled bacon. It doesn’t get much easier then prepping this dip. To prevent too much liquid from the tomatoes getting into the dip and making it runny, completely seed the tomatoes.

I took an added step of placing a paper towel over the chopped tomatoes to capture the excess liquid. I used the Turning Fork to flip the bacon strips, which I cooked up in the 12″ Gourmet Fry Pan. Once everything was combined, I placed the BLT Dip into the refrigerator for a few hours for the flavors to blend. This recipe is super easy to make. Print Recipe Ingredients. Elle's New England Kitchen - Elle's New England Kitchen - Avocado Chimichurri Bruschetta. What is Chimichurri? I know, it’s a burning question that a lot of you may be wondering about. Today, I’ll try to give you a little background from information that I’ve found. Chimichurri is a green sauce, but can also be red. It’s very popular as a marinade and sauce in Latin and South American countries.

The stories say that the sauce was first invented by an Irish man named Jimmy McCurry, who was fighting in the Argentine War of Independence. Apparently, his name lost a little something in the translation, and Jimmy McCurry became Chimichurri. Chimichurri is based on parsley, garlic, oil and vinegar--and then from there it has many variations. It’s very simple to prepare, and is made from common, easy to find ingredients.

The recipe we always use is in my post for Vegan Bean Burgers, and we even added an avocado to that batch. Today’s recipe is from Vegetarian Times. Basically, it’s cubed avocados tossed with a flavorful Chimichurri, and served on toasted baguette slices. Fresh Guacamole Recipe. The Baked Potato Recipe : Alton Brown.
