China Miéville. China Tom Miéville (/ˈtʃaɪnə miˈeɪvəl/; born 6 September 1972) is an English fantasy fiction author, comic writer and academic.

Classified as a science fiction and fantasy writer, he often leaned into other genres, such as magical realism. Career[edit] A native of Lynchburg, Virginia where he was born in 1943,[1] Shepard's first short stories appeared in 1983, and his first novel, Green Eyes, appeared in 1984.
