Let's do some piecing! First thing we do is open that charm pack and see what we have in the way of different colors. This pack has a set of white based squares, green and blue squares are a medium tone... With the red and browns being darker. This is a good mix. Select a center fabric that works with your collection. Cut the center 16.5" x 16.5" and put it on your design wall on point. Before we continue CLICK HERE to download Lucky Charms Part 2 directions The supply list had 2 companion fabrics of the same size. I'm going to use the red linen type fabric and the light color squares to do my star points.

But I have one too many lights.. which should I take out? When I fold this print in half it has lots of 'other color' so it will go for side strips. Holly and Berries are my favorites! And Here is the applique for the non holiday fabrics... spinning Flower fun! In this step I'm teaching you how to draw on the fusible and giving you some of my tips and tricks.

For the Holly I did fusible stems, but for the flowers I used a bias make to make bias stems. I have supplies at my website, and I have a book on Fusible Applique.. check it out! I prefer Heat n Bond lite (ONLY THE LITE, purple package) for this type of applique as we are going to be cutting away the centers and this fusible always stays together... read on... Trace the shapes on the paper side.

Leave yourself some room between shapes. Use all the available spots on your heat n bond. Pat Sloan's QuiltersHome: Pat Sloan's "Lucky Charms" Sew Along - Part 4 tutorial. Let's get stitching!

I'm using my Aurifil 50 weight thread from my kit. The thin thread blends in so the thread is not a 'feature' on the project. (CLICK HERE TO SEE THE COLORS) Pat Sloan's QuiltersHome: Pat Sloan's "Lucky Charms" Sew Along - Part 5 - The end! The Holly version of Lucky Charms and...
