Absolutely not. I don't sell the ads--that's handled by other people entirely. I do, however, write the guide. In the first two categories, I just did a quick count: I think there are 31 headphones in the over-ear category, 12 or 13 of which are from sponsors. In the second category (gaming), two of three are made by sponsors. In custom in-ears, five of seven are made by sponsors. In universal-fit in-ears, I think three four of 12 are made by sponsors, but I'd have to confirm all of these numbers by looking at the list of sponsors.

The theory behind binaural beats is that if you apply slightly different frequency sine waves to each ear, a beating affect is created in the brain itself, due to the brain's internal wiring. If, in the presence of these tones, you relax and let your mind go, your mind will naturally synchronize with the beat frequency. In this way it is possible to tune the frequency of your brain waves to particular frequencies that you have selected, using of the four bands: Delta: deep sleep, Theta: dreaming and intuitive stuff, Alpha: awake, focussed inside, and Beta: awake, focussed outside. Why? Because I've discovered the weird-science world of Binaural Beats. For the uninitiated (which I'm guessing you are), binaural beats are basically just two sound streams running against each other, but usually for a very specific purpose: brain wave entrainment. The way it works is you'll have an audible base frequency, say 200Hz. Why would you do this, you ask?
