Tissue Paper & Paper Flowers Tutorial
I debated sharing this tutorial for a couple-o-reasons. Reason 1. It's a craft that has been around since before I was born and reason 2... it's a craft that has been around since before I was born. I feel like I might be a 100 years old at this point. My crows feet asked for slippers the other day cause they were getting cold. Since it's new to me I figure it's got to be new to someone else too so I am doing it anyway! Supplies you'll need to make tissue paper flowers:Tissue paper (seeing as how this IS a tissue paper flower tutorial it would stand to reason that some form of tissue paper will be required)16 HUGS (just checking to see if you are actually reading this)Pipe cleaners or floral wireScissors Extras (for pizzaz): glimmer mist, brads, 2 inch Styrofoam balls, ribbon, more hugs (still checking), a flower girl (seriously), and lastly... As I stated last week, I purchased a Martha Stewart tissue paper flowers kit a few months ago on clearance at Malwart. Let's get started!! VOILA!!

How Does a Difference Engine Compute? A Difference Engine uses Newton's method of differences to evaluate a polynomial for successive values of x; 1, 2, 3, etc. Computing the next entry in a table can be significantly easier than computing an arbitrary entry of the table. In simple terms the method of differences is based on the observation that if the work has already been done to multiply 5 by 6, that work can be reused to multiply 5 by 7 with the addition of another 5 into the previous total. 5 × 6 = 30 5 × 7 = 35 adding 5 into the previous value (30) 5 × 8 = 40 adding 5 again, into the previous value (35) The multiplication of the next successive number is the previous result plus the multiplicand. This concept can be extended to polynomials. The "f(x)" column represents the evaluation of the polynomial for values of x: 1, 2, 3, etc. Using this we can evaluate successive values 2x 2 + 3x + 5, using only two additions for each result. {Valentines day} pixelated popup card
I‘ve been scratching my head trying to come up with a card for my hubby {AKA the non-romantic type}. I finally decided to make this pixely popup heart card! They are really minimal (which I love) and take about 20 minutes to make (that includes the card, insert and envelope). You can even make some pixely confetti to put inside the card (if you are a big kid like me!). Full instructions and printable templates below! (BTW I remember seeing something similar in a popup book years ago. How to 1. (If you have a cutting machine then see note at end of post!) And, believe me, I am neither meticulous nor particularly patient. You could even say I’m the opposite. Below you can see my very first attempt to create paper flowers. What you will need to make your own Kusudama paper ball? 1. 3. 4. (optionally) I prefer torn paper instead of cut. You have to start with a single petal. Now you have to glue your 5 petals into a flower. Apply the glue to only one side of each petal, except for the last one, in this case cover both sides with glue. Your first flower is done. Don’t glue every petal right after you make it. When all 12 flowers are finished you have to glue them together. When two halves of Kusudama Flower Ball are ready you have to glue them together.
