These are some useful teaching tips:  The teacher presents pictures of different types of doughnuts in the classroom. Students must brainstorm what are doughnuts made from? They come up with vocabulary and phrases about doughnuts. After that, they read the story and identify any vocabulary they had brainstormed.  The teacher reads aloud the story twice and students need to take notes about it. This is a site that would be good for my more advanced readers. It allows them to choose a topic, such as the United States, or penguins. It has a few to choose from, so the student can choose what he or she is interested in. Then, he or she reads the passage and answers the comprehension questions about it. The reading level is a bit tough, in my opinion, which is why I think it would be perfect to give some of my more advanced students more of a challenge. by kham1 Nov 5
