Standard Pallets Reused Free pallets are wanted here, just your standard, everyday pallet is fine. You can see I'm using two free pallets as a raised surface for our small backyard container garden of mostly tomatoes and Japanese cucumbers. This system works great cause all we have to do is run the mower along the edges of the wooden pallets and not worry about knocking over any veggies. (And the slats in the pallets were perfect for sliding the legs of the tomato cages through to the ground.)
