IN A RUSH? FORGET THE BRUSH! photos: Angela Kohler + thebeautydepartment.com post designed by kristin ess In a world where we can’t stop running late, the fun bun is probably the quickest way from A to Chic. This look comes in über-handy when you wake up late and you’re rushing out the door (or even if you have plenty of time). It’s such a high-brow/low-brow look. How To Style a Fishtail Braid We love the look of fishtail braids! This trend is incredibly easy to style, even on your own hair. Kinsey and I photographed the steps so you can try it out for yourself... Here's how to style a fishtail braid... 1. Part your hair into two even sections. 2. Ten Ways to Dress Up a Ponytail Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to spend a lot of time on my hair. But at the same time, I don't want to look like a homeless hairdresser when I go to work, so I try to make my ponytails as fancy as possible. Here are ten easy ways I like to dress up my ponytail: 1. Wrap it with a strand of hair -Put your hair in a ponytail like you normally would. untitled Tuesday, November 18, 2014 Jessica Booth My eyes are my absolute favorite feature, so every day, I focus on making them stand out. If I don’t have eye makeup on to accentuate and enhance my eyes, I feel naked and totally self-conscious. My eyes are quite large, and I would describe them as either protruding or round. One thing’s for sure: no matter what color eye shadow I’m wearing or how much mascara I apply, my eyes are always making a statement. I love that, because I truly do believe the statement that “eyes are the window to your soul.”

Messy bun tutorial (Coat by French Connection) After this post, I got a few requests for a “messy bun” hair tutorial! My boyfriend laughed when I told him that I needed help photographing it. Hair Tutorial: Get Curly Hair Using an Old Pillowcase If there's one thing I've gathered from my girlfriends when it comes to hair, it's that you always want what you don't have. Funnily enough, my husband also lusts after big, bouncy and bodacious, but we're not talking about curls (wokka wokka). Since I was little I've been obsessed with curls.

Double hair knot When it comes to the year’s fashion trends a lot of 2011 will focus on embellished, quality details – it won’t be exactly the same for 2011 hairstyles, however. Quality, yes. Embellishment, not always. 2011 won’t be a year in which hair trends are based around adornments and accessories – yes, there’ll be headbands, but there’ll be a larger push towards styles that are au naturel.
