Inspired by Yulia Brodskaya I can't get over how amazing these are. I wouldn't be surprised if Yulia invented quilling. She is a 28 year old artist from Moscow who creates beautiful designs from vertical pieces of thin paper and her website is full of inspiration in color, line, shadow and technique. You don't have to be a fellow quiller to wish you were like this great lady. stencil with freezer paper (harry potter tee) Yes, I am a nerd. I came up with a brilliant idea for a Harry Potter t-shirt and I couldn't resist. "Expecto Patronum!" homework: creative inspiration for home and life: Inkling: paper mache confetti bowl I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s very hard for me to throw away scraps of paper. I wouldn’t exactly classify it as hoarding but it could become a problem if I don’t use up the bits and pieces. This bowl wasn’t made out of paper scraps but paper catalogs. When I attended CHA in January, I came home with a lot of catalogs. The paper catalogs have pages and pages of pictures of pretty paper. How could I throw those away?

Baby Girl Nursery DIY decorating ideas I love this one of her sleeping in a bowl of my favorite yarn, Lion Brand Vanna's Choice. I am officially introducing my future crocheter and the newest addition to our family: Zoe! She was born August 31, 2013 weighing 8lbs 1oz and 21 inches long. She has been an easy baby and makes our family complete. We are feeling so blessed! Her nursery was a work in progress, and although you saw bits and pieces of it throughout the last 9 months, I thought I would post a round-up of all the crafts I made for it now that its all come together. 25 Cool Ideas To Display Family Photos On Your Walls Family portrait by Lori Andrews (via designcrushblog) We all have family photos that we love. Plastic Cup Lamp Now that my university is closed for winter holidays, I finally have more free time to do all the crafty things I’ve been wanting to. One of these is a lamp made from plastic cups I’ve seen at taf, the art foundation, in the Monastiraki region in the center of Athens. When I first saw it at taf, I was amazed; I looked closely and I couldn’t believe my eyes! The object itself is so peculiar, modern and alien-like it could be in any design exhibition. With my best friend’s birthday coming up, I decided to make it myself and give it to her as a gift. It turns out it was the easiest craft I’ve even done, the epitome of DIY objects! Tiny Terrarium Tutorial Ahoy there Hipster Homers! I’m Julie and I’m the very first guest blogger on this fine site. Today’s project involves breaking stuff, plants, found objects, and miniatures.

DIY Bookshelf from Unfinished Wooden Crates This charming rustic bookshelf is easy to make out of unfinished wooden crates from Walmart. Let me show you how! I have seen a variety of attractive wooden crate projects over the years, so I was excited when Walmart recently started carrying unfinished wooden crates–I just knew that sooner or later they would ask me to do a craft project and I’d have a perfect excuse to build some shelves. Pyramid Gift Box Template This decorative box can be used to give a small gift or just as a decoration. Attached below is the pattern to make the box with complete directions on the sheet. This box was made by putting a sample wallpaper sheet sized to 81/2" x 11" and placed in my printer so that the pattern would print on the back side of the wallpaper. Back a few years ago I aquired some outdated wallpaper sample books from a store. I just asked the manager to let me know when he was updating his old sample books.
