A Splash of Color by Rackat ...from Critique Club... Hi Rackat...ain't I lucky..they assigned your photo to me..ha FIRST IMPRESSION: Horrible shot...what were you thinking???? COMPOSITION: Totally off. It would have worked much better if it were upside down...and reversed horizontaly. Where Children Sleep James Mollison traveled around the globe and took some incredibly eye-opening photos of children's bedrooms. He then compiled them into a book, titled Where Children Sleep. Each pair of photographs is accompanied by an extended caption that tells the child's story. The Worst Analogies Ever Written in a High School Essay They lived in a typical suburban neighborhood with picket fences that resembled Nancy Kerrigan's teeth. He spoke with the wisdom that can only come from experience, like a guy who went blind because he looked at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes around the country speaking at high schools about the dangers of looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it. She caught your eye like one of those pointy hook latches that used to dangle from screen doors and would fly up whenever you banged the door open again. The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn't. McBride fell 12 stories, hitting the pavement like a Hefty Bag filled with vegetable soup.

Photos of Children From Around the World With Their Most Prized Possessions Chiwa – Mchinji, Malawi Shot over a period of 18 months, Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti‘s project Toy Stories compiles photos of children from around the world with their prized possesions—their toys. Galimberti explores the universality of being a kid amidst the diversity of the countless corners of the world, saying, “at their age, they are pretty all much the same; they just want to play.” But it’s how they play that seemed to differ from country to country. Galimberti found that children in richer countries were more possessive with their toys and that it took time before they allowed him to play with them (which is what he would do pre-shoot before arranging the toys), whereas in poorer countries he found it much easier to quickly interact, even if there were just two or three toys between them. There were similarites too, especially in the functional and protective powers the toys represented for their proud owners.

A Father Who Creatively Captures His Kids (20 photos) If there was a prize that could be given out to the most creative father, I'd hope that it was awarded to Jason Lee. A wedding photographer by day, he's used to capturing some of the most important moments in a couple's lives. As a longtime fan of Jason's photos on Flickr however, I think the real magic happens when he turns the camera onto his daughters. Sure, his children are adorably cute in their own right, but that's not what makes his photos so interesting. One man, 100,000 toothpicks, and 35 years: An incredible kinetic sculpture of San Francisco Thirty five years ago I had yet to be born, but artist Scott Weaver had already begun work on this insanely complex kinetic sculpture, Rolling through the Bay, that he continues to modify and expand even today. The elaborate sculpture is comprised of multiple “tours” that move pingpong balls through neighborhoods, historical locations, and iconic symbols of San Francisco, all recreated with a little glue, some toothpicks, and an incredible amount of ingenuity. He admits in the video that there are several toothpick sculptures even larger than his, but none has the unique kinetic components he’s constructed. Via his website Weaver estimates he’s spent over 3,000 hours on the project, and the toothpicks have been sourced from around the world: I have used different brands of toothpicks depending on what I am building. I also have many friends and family members that collect toothpicks in their travels for me.

SeenAndShared.com The Law Of The Wild says "Kill ONLY when you are hungry." Photographer Michel Denis-Huot, who captured these amazing pictures on safari in Kenya's Masai Mara in October last year, said he was astounded by what he saw: *UPDATE: While these pictures are indeed real, the outcome after the encounter below did not fare well for the young deer. Nevertheless, these are remarkable photographs.

How to Listen to Music on the Internet for Free...Legally last updated July 26th, 2010 It's difficult to be a music fan in a world full of internet leaks, peer to peer and Bit Torrent. The allure to steal music is high and the incentives to pay for it are becoming lower everyday. So New Media Rights wanted to put together a list of great sites where you can download or stream free, legal mp3s and albums so you can avoid getting sued by the RIAA and support your favorite musicians at the same time.
