A Big Fat List of Essential Oils for Health and Survival. By Gaye Levy, Contributing Writer and Rebecca Schiffhauer Guest Writer for Wake Up World The world can be a dangerous place. It is not as though we intentionally try to live dangerously, it kind of, sort of just… happens. Of course, we are being more than a little bit facetious when we say that because surely there is more to it than that. We’ve seen enough natural disasters over the last 10 years to realize that no one is immune, and Mother Nature isn’t selective. And there are dozens of other scary events that occur that are not-so-natural. Realistically, we could find ourselves fending for ourselves and our families for some time, should the power go out or our water supply rendered unfit to drink or, cut off completely.

Rather than fear and cower at the thought of these disruptive and frightening events, we prepare. Think about your family’s health needs, and ask yourself these questions… 1. 2. 3. 4. Cutting A Gum Wrapper In Half Is A Survival Technique That Everyone Should Know. Many people think that “Doomsday preppers” are pretty big oddballs. They are people who are preparing for end of the world scenarios now instead of later. Although they may be getting ready a bit early, who can really know for sure? All we can really know is that they have some pretty ingenious ideas up their sleeves.

They are modern day MacGuyvers because, when the zombies attack and the dollar collapses, we all have to be like that. This is one trick you can try with a gum wrapper that is a need to know survival skill. h/t [worldtruth.tv] These are neat little tricks that literally anyone can use. TV host asks atheist Stephen Fry question about God, you have to watch what happens next. Stephen Fry is an unapologetic atheist, so if you're going to ask him a question about God then you better be prepared. One who was not quite so ready was Gay Byrne, who was interviewing the newly-married broadcaster on his show The Meaning Of Life. On his show, he likes to ask guests that when you die, you'll walk up to the pearly gates and you're confronted by God, what will you say to him?

'I'd say, bone cancer in children? What's that about? How dare you? ' Fry responds to a totally stunned Byrne. 'How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault? 'Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God that creates a world that is so full of injustice and pain? ' Flabbergasted, Byrne sputters out: 'And you think you're going to get in?... ' 'But I wouldn't want to,' Fry confirms. It's incredible television. Watch the whole video below: For America to Live, Europe Must Die | High Existence. Creative Thinking. Tools.

300+ Mind Expanding Documentaries. I watch a lot of documentaries. I think they are incredible tools for learning and increasing our awareness of important issues. The power of an interesting documentary is that it can open our minds to new possibilities and deepen our understanding of the world. On this list of mind expanding documentaries you will find different viewpoints, controversial opinions and even contradictory ideas. Critical thinking is recommended. I’m not a big fan of conspiracy documentaries but I do like films that challenge consensus reality and provoke us to question the everyday ideas, opinions and practices we usually take for granted. Watching documentaries is one of my favorite methods of self-education.

By: Earthporm | Lighthouses have helped guide ships to safety for many years, they are engraved in our culture and a big part of mankind’s history.

Lighthouses are included in some of the oldest literary works and historical tales, granting them a very mystical charm. There was a time when someone worked every lighthouse, but today most are controlled electrically. Many things have changed since the early days, including using a combination of certain substances to create the light at the top of the tower–today we just use electricity. Many of the lighthouses still in existence today are very old, and some even have spooky tales about long lost watch guards, residents, and sailers that haunt these ocean-ravaged towers. Check out these breathtaking photos of old lighthouses that have withstood the test of time, providing scenic views and a peek into the past. Porto, Portugal Lighthouse Frozen St.

British Pathé was one of the leading producers of newsreels and documentaries during the 20th Century. This week, the company, now an archive, is turning over its entire collection -- over 85,000 historical films – to YouTube.

The archive -- which spans from 1896 to 1976 – is a goldmine of footage, containing movies of some of the most important moments of the last 100 years. It’s a treasure trove for film buffs, culture nerds and history mavens everywhere. In Pathé’s playlist "A Day That Shook the World," which traces an Anglo-centric history of the 20th Century, you will find clips of the Wright Brothers’ first flight, the bombing of Hiroshima and Neil Armstrong’s walk on the moon, alongside footage of Queen Victoria’s funeral and Roger Bannister’s 4-minute mile.

There's, of course, footage of the dramatic Hindenburg crash and Lindbergh's daring cross-Atlantic flight. Here’s a film about a technological innovation that curiously didn’t take off -- an amphibious scooter. 8 Natural Weather Phenomena You Won't Believe Are Real. The weather has been known to do all kinds of weird and wonderful things, some of which are incredibly hard to imagine without seeing them. Some weather phenomena are much rarer than others however and some of them are so strange it’s hard to believe they’re real. That said, here are eight such phenomena… 1. Sprites, Jets & Elves Sprites (red in colour), jets (most often blue in colour) and elves (most often purple in colour) are all incredibly rare types of lightning that occurs high in the Earth’s atmosphere, just on the edge of space. For the most part, the blasts (which in the case of elves can become up to 185 miles wide) tend only to last for less than a second, often making people think they simply imagined the flash of colour in the sky. 2.

Often referred to as the Green Ray, the Green Flash appears very briefly either before total sunset or just after sunrise. 3. Ball lightening is an extremely rare phenomenon which only appears in ideal circumstances. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. A definitive bucket list of the 25 things you need to do as an adventure traveler. EVERY TRAVELER HAS THEIR OWN “bucket list,” whether they call it that or not. You can’t travel and not make mental notes about the next places you want to go, the next things you want to do. Obviously, the point is that it’s personal. I can hardly tell you what should be on your bucket list, as mine is likely totally different from yours.

But if you’re into extreme travel — or, if you’re the type to cringe at the thought of bros shouting “EXTREME!” While they crash into things, let’s call it adventure travel — there are some absolute must-dos if you want to cement your status as a globetrotting badass. 1.
