http://www.bakerella.com/ I was in Chicago last weekend for the Home and Housewares Show . It was incredible and so fun to come back to the city. I’ve only been one other time and it was very cooold. But thankfully this weekend was filled with unusually warmer weather. I enjoy taking pics with my phone – it makes snapping quick photos much easier than pulling out my main camera sometimes and you can do so much with them using photo apps.

It is for this reason and others that the Kopykake drawing projector has been so invaluable to me – I can easily create sugar art without being able to draw images freehand. If you are somewhat ‘drawing-challenged’ shall we say, or if you’d like to speed up your cake or cookie decorating process, you’ll probably enjoy the Kopykake projector. You should know that I’m not sponsored by Kopykake in any way but do have affiliate links to Amazon and Ultimate Baker , although Amazon is sold out of the models I’ll be reviewing. I sincerely enjoy the projector and have had many questions regarding using it so am sharing my experience and answers here. http://sweetopia.net/2010/06/decorating-cookies-with-a-kopykake-projector/

Decorating Cookies with a Kopykake Projector | Sweetopia

http://grinandbakeit.com/ Made by me! Some food for thought today… I received an email this week telling me that one of my photos was posted on another site without any link back or credit. Basically, the person took an entire 60 seconds max to cut, paste, post it on her site, and then took full credit for my creation. I emailed the person nicely letting her know it was my original photo and that it’s only blogging etiquette to link back, or at least say where it came from.

{Cupcake Basics} How to Frost Cupcakes

One topic that I often receive questions on, is how to decorate cupcakes. I've been wanting to post on this topic for some time, but wanted to do a nice complete post, something that would be a nice reference for you to come back to. I hope this post will be a good resource for you. I remember when I first started decorating cupcakes I too was very interested in (and intimidated by) creating a beautiful swirl on cupcakes. After doing it only a few time I found that filling a piping bag and adding a nice swirl of frosting on cupcakes is actually much easier and quicker than spreading frosting! A few tips to get you started...
So, after being gone all last week, this has been catch up on the house week. Mostly laundry actually. Man, who knew that a weeks worth of laundry from 5 people could be so daunting. Yikes!!

Triple Pink Birthday Cupcakes :: Whipped

Clearly, nature has beat out nurture in creating my 3-year-old’s desire for all things pink. None of the main caretakers in her life are “pink lovers” and yet, Mini Whipped is drawn to all things rose-colored like a Goth is to black. When she started choosing everything pink and wanted to wear pink clothes every day, I tried to encourage some variety. I would suggest other options offering enticing rewards, “But don’t you want this dolphin to swim around on your blue shirt all day long?!” I rarely convinced the strong-minded tot. Then one day, I heard her saying to her grandmother with heartfelt emotion, “Grammy, it just makes me SO happy to wear pink.” http://whippedtheblog.com/2011/04/10/triple-pink-cupcakes/
http://blog.dressmycupcake.com/ Whether you’re hosting a birthday party or planning a school fundraiser, we proudly recommend cupcakes for the dessert table. Kids love to decorate cupcakes—almost as much as eating them! For your next birthday party why not have a fun cooking theme and let them decorate their own? Hosting a cupcake party for kids is a great way to encourage cooking and learning.

Ginger Zucchini Cupcakes with an Orange-Spiced Cream Cheese Frosting | Daily Crave

If you’re anything like me, right around this time of year you begin to get the Autumn itch. The nights are slowly evolving into a cool calm, the scent of the outside air begins to change, and the anticipation for the fall festivities ahead has you wound up with total excitement! What better way to transition into the best time of year, than to unite the two worlds of summer and spice in this delicious cupcake. My (very soon-to-be) father in-law graciously gifted me with a bag full of garden fresh zucchini followed by a brief mention of a healthy ginger-zucchini muffin recipe he had come across recently. http://dailycrave.wordpress.com/2010/08/25/ginger-zucchini-cupcakes-with-an-orange-spiced-cream-cheese-frosting/

Posted on Friday, 2nd July 2010 by Grace Happy Belated Canada Day and Happy Early 4th of July everyone! The Canada Day celebrations were in full force yesterday. There were quite a few firework displays happening in the city. I didn’t have to go too far, I had the perfect view from my backyard. I think we had about 6 or 7 displays in our neighbourhood.
