The Produce posters are now available for purchase at The Sweet Tooth Paper Goods Company . Ten percent of Kitchen 101 poster sale profits will go towards supporting education in the culinary arts. I’d be remiss if I simply focused on imparting technical knowledge in these Kitchen 101 posts without talking about ingredients, particularly the biggest misconception about produce today: it is naturally available year-round. Though you may be able to find just about every type of fruit, vegetable or herb everyday of the year in the grocery store, a majority of those items are not in season.
There are so many food-related ways to show mom love this Mother’s Day weekend, but none will be more delicious than this creamy quiche Lorraine! What are your plans? Breakfast in bed?

There’s a thing in my house that when you have ripe ol bananas either you make banana bread or banana fritters. These delicious tasty treats can be eaten morning, noon, or night, as a snack or as dessert. These fritters are so easy to make and will satisfy any craving you may have. So if you have a few of these bananas lying around your hose… don’t toss them, put them to GREAT use! Enjoy!
When Intelligentsia Coffee opened in Pasadena recently, I was intrigued the lasagna cupcakes they served. The cupcakes are made by Heirloom LA , a catering business. About the size of a muffin, a single lasagna cupcake was a delicious meal. After seeing how much my daughter enjoyed them (she ate my entire cupcake and I had to order a second one), I decided I had to try making them at home.
I found these helpful charts last week and just had to share! Both of these beauties are from Chasing Delicious (aka one of the most fab foodie blogs out there)! Aren’t they faaaaabulous?! Buy them here . (Note: There are lots of little charts like this online, but these are my favorites).
Bacon & Eggs in Toast Cups Yesterday we got probably about 10 inches of white fully snow, which meant that church was canceled this morning and so was Hubby’s softball game. I usually make breakfast on Saturday mornings, but this Saturday I had to go into work for a few hours. But since we had no church to get up early for or a softball game to run to, I decided to make some breakfast this morning. I recently got this awesome book, William & Sonoma’s: Tools & Techniques. This is a great book to have on your shelf.
Why there is no need to purchase pre-made fries in the freezer aisle – in pictures and rhyme: One potato (find a potato) Two potato (cut the ends off) Three potato (cut slices) Four (cut fries from slices)

Fresh green chiles are harvested from August through October. Fresh is always best, but you can roast them, peel them and then freeze them in an airtight container for use all year long. Fresh green chiles will bring you the best flavor, though frozen or canned chiles or sauces will do in a pinch. Take advantage of local farms or farmer's markets for fresh chiles. 1.

Grilled Guacmole? Ummmm. Heck yes!! I made this recently for Tasty Kitchen and it was gooooood. You need to make it. Immediately.
Breakfast is my favorite meal. I like to drink iced coffee and watch the cream climb its way down the chunky ice cubes in a dazy before the caffeine hits. I like to order bacon with whatever I’m eating. I like eating potatoes with ketchup.
