Water Wheel Engineering

The answer to this question rests mainly in three parts, assuming money is no object: How much 'head' of water is available and what is it's flow rate? Head of Water is a term that is characterised by the difference in height of the first availability of the water (ie where you take it under your control) and the location of the device utilising the water's potential energy to produce a useful form of energy for human consumption, like electricity, for instance. Head of water is potential energy; litres per second of water is kinetic energy or 'happening' energy. What Civil Engineering Is Required? Do you have to build a hill-top storage dam to store rain run-off?

Each of these scenarios has it's own in-built problems and engineering works. A hill-top storage dam presupposes a hill-top catchment area. What Level of Technology? Pelton Wheels.

HeatGreen - A Simple, Non-Fossil-Fueled Home Heating Furnace System

This presentation was first placed on the Internet in March 2007. At least 117,000 visitors have read about the HG concept since then. Since we don't charge for this information, we have no way of knowing when people actually build HG units, but we believe that several thousand have been built so far, in at least ten different countries. This is a Normal-sized Rotating Five-foot diameter HG 3a showing two digital thermometers (internal air and water), two air ducts and two water pipes, axle shaft, feed door opening, and pink heat insulation. Rather small Rotating Three-foot diameter HG 3a (someone built in 2009). BETTER than Biogas! People are beginning to become aware of their "carbon footprint" and the devastating effects that we individually and collectively are having to alter the Earth's climate and atmosphere. You may want to read this VERY carefully! Here is a "teaser" for you! Yes.

The trouble is, it has never been efficient enough for widespread practical use. A pair of scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Eneco Inc. have made a device that nearly doubles the amount of electricity that can be extracted from heat. The researchers' thermal diode converts about 18 percent of thermal energy to electricity, while current thermoelectric generators convert about 10 percent. The technology could be used to generate additional electricity from power plants, which throw off enormous amounts of waste heat, and to generate electricity using the heat from automobile engines. The technology could also produce electricity in conjunction with devices that concentrate sunlight. In the thermal diode, heat causes electrons to flow from one semiconductor layer to another. 19970012689_1997021349.pdf (application/pdf Object)
