Future - How much is ‘too much time’ on social media? #LikeMinded A special series about social media and well-being This month, BBC Future is exploring social media’s impact on mental health and well-being – and seeking solutions for a happier, healthier experience on these platforms. Stay tuned for more stories, coming soon… Share your tips for a happy life on social media with the hashtag #LikeMinded on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Describing yourself as ‘a social media addict’ doesn’t usually inspire concern from other people. Quests Getting StartedOur quests are shared via a viewable Google Drive folder. Within the folder, you'll find a series of resources, numbered in the order they should be arranged, for example, "1 - Twitter: What is Twitter?" precedes "2 - Twitter: The Power of Twitter Search" and so forth. In the event of a branching progression option, quests will be identified with numbers and letters, for example, "2a - Game-based Learning: Rethinking Failure" and "2b - Game-based Learning: What Kind of Gamer Are You?"Be sure to keep an eye on this space as we'll be sharing more content in the future!

Teacher Recommended: 50 Favorite Classroom Apps Educators and students are quickly becoming more comfortable with classroom technology, allowing them to shift from thinking about the technical side of integrating a new tool to focusing on how it improves learning. She tapped her professional learning network of educators, teaching all grades and located all over the country, to share their favorite tech tools. “A year ago people felt like it was this new thing that was so overwhelming,” Luhtala said, “and now it really seems much more comfortable.” Educators have become proficient with their favorite classroom apps and are getting more creative with using them to achieve teaching goals.

In this hunt, students are tasked with finding a particular physical object, person, or place and have to use technology to track it down. Note: an ‘online scavenger hunt’ usually implies that you’re hunting around online and not physically with classmates. For the purpose of this article, I’m focusing on the physical version I’ve dubbed ‘digital scavenger hunts’.

3 Steps to a More Accessible Classroom "Turn on the subtitles, Ms. Olague!" I clicked on the "CC" button underneath the YouTube video, and the closed-captioning appeared at the bottom of the screen. Though my English learners were the initial reason I starting using closed-captioning on videos, I soon realized that students with special needs also benefited. Nimbus - Welcome to Nimbus Capture!
