I Spy DIY

I Spy DIY
I took my latest DIY for a spin, and I am officially jonseing for a holiday party to wear this (got to look at the bright side of winter, right?) When I spotted this dress at H&M, I knew it would be perfect for this project. I mimicked LC's look with a high bun, which, as you may be able to tell, is my current obsession! Supplies and steps after the break... Supplies: Non stretch Dress

Quilled Snowflake Ornament - Reese Dixon Today I have a big fat tutorial to share with you. It looks really really scary and detailed, but it’s not so bad. Trust me. rolled paper flowers Welcome to flower week – five days of simple and delightful flower projects. I could probably do three weeks of flowers because there are so many different ways to create them, but I’ve limited it to five of my current favorites. Before we get started, let me make a few disclaimers: 1. I find inspiration for projects all over the place {online, in shops, in magazines}, then figure out how to re-create them on my own. Each of these projects are my adaptation of something I’ve seen elsewhere. DIY Ombre Wrapped Headphones – Make Scout There is no such thing as too much color in your life. Though I’m sure there are those who’ll disagree on that front, you’ll have to admit that a punch or pop of color can really brighten up an everyday object. That is the inspiration behind today’s DIY.

DIY ROPE WRAPPED MASON JAR LIGHTS 27th January 2014 As some of you may have noticed, in the last few years my interests have evolved from fashion DIYs to a mix of interiors and fashion. It could be a product of getting older (although I’m not up to ‘nesting’ just yet), although it’s more likely due to my boyfriend and I working more closely together than we have in the past (we pretty much sit back to back in the office). As an interior designer (mainly restaurants recently), he’s always coming across super cool DIY ideas for the spaces he designs.

Use Lace and Concrete to Make Bookends, Planters, and Votives Who says lace week has to be all about wearable loveliness? Colorblock Cage Light I bought this light cord on sale a couple weeks ago, and it was asking for a makeover. I wanted the cord to standout, so turned to a trusty wrapping technique I have used many times before. After my cord was decked out in neon, I went on a search for a cage to cover the bulb. DIY Copper Pipe and Wood Slice Side Table This side table is the perfect example of procrastination. I have been ‘planning’ this tutorial since we purchased our Christmas tree and it came with this hunk of wood on the bottom. I (naturally) squirrelled it away to make into the perfect DIY at a later date… Six months and 500 ideas later I decided I had to just get on with it and I’m so happy I did! No longer do I have to reach so far for my coffee in the morning. Gold Moon Wall I have to admit that I've been a bit obsessed with moons lately: moon shirts, moon calendars, moon wall hangings... I want it all. As I've been working on making over my art room, I was playing around with a few moon art ideas, but then I thought, "Hey! Why not skip all this little moon business and just do the whole wall-in gold!" Jackpot. One of my most treasured art tools is actually my overhead projector.
