Stop the Secret Trade Deals: the Monsanto Protection Act on Steroids If you thought the Monsanto Protection Act was bad, the secret trade deals called the TPP and TAFTA are a global nightmare. Right now two secret trade agreements, known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Trans-Atlantic Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA), also called the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), are being negotiated behind closed doors like this spring when the Monsanto Protection Act was passed. Just as we are on the verge of winning GMO labeling in the US, these secret negotiations could eliminate the ability of countries around the world to label GMOs or impose common sense restrictions on the sale of genetically engineered seed and food in their countries if Monsanto and other biotech companies get their way. They could also make it illegal to label GMOs in the U.S., placing the decision in the hands of corporate lobbyists and Monsanto GMO stooges. Demand an end to secret trade deals, stop the fast track of TAFTA and the TPP.
Why the Food Industry Is Spending $25 Million To Keep You in the Dark Which food companies are trying to keep you in the dark about what's in your food? Surveys repeatedly show that more than 90 percent of Americans want genetically modified (GM) foods labeled. That overwhelming majority of the public wants to know if it's eating ingredients derived from lab-created plants that have been genetically modified to resist (and sometime even create their own) toxic pesticides, withstand drought, or produce higher yields. Considering that GM ingredients have infiltrated more than 75 percent of processed foods, however, food manufacturers have successfully defeated (or threatened to defeat) law after law that would have required these ingredients to be labeled. Once people know that a product contains GM ingredients, the thinking goes, they won't buy it.

When I Don’t Shave My Legs, I Have Nightmares We are a hirsute people. How Genetically Modified Corn Is Creating Super Worms By Aviva Shen on September 5, 2012 at 11:10 am "How Genetically Modified Corn Is Creating Super Worms" Agricultural giant Monsanto Company has risen to the top of the corporate food chain largely thanks to its seeds. These are no ordinary seeds — they have been genetically modified (GM) to withstand and even produce herbicides and pesticides. Monsanto’s GM corn and soybean seeds have become so widespread over the past two decades that now, a new crop of “superweeds” have evolved to resist these potent chemicals. Brevet US5676977 - Method of curing AIDS with tetrasilver tetroxide molecular crystal devices - Google Brevets This application is a continuation-in-part of patent application Ser. No. 08/310,859 filed Sep. 22, 1994, now abandoned. The present invention relates to the employment of molecular crystals as anti-AIDS devices, but more particularly to the molecular crystal semiconductor tetrasilver tetroxide Ag.sub.4 O.sub.4 which has two monovalent and two trivalent silver ions per molecule, and which through this structural configuration enables intermolecular electron transfer capable of killing viruses and binding them to the resulting silver entity so that a single intravenous injection will completely obliterate acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) in humans.

Free TOEFL Practice Test Sebastian in the Netherlands I'm a software engineer and am in an international team of developers. Though there are no native English speakers here, we do have to use English all the time since it's the only language we have in common. I will be using the iPod Shuffle while traveling/working/volunteering abroad. I'm happy about the score of the TOEFL test, I am planning to work or volunteer abroad as an English teacher but as a non-native speaker myself I was not entirely confident my skill in English was high enough to be teaching. Monsanto Loses to Beekepers of Yucatan Peninsula Beekeepers have succeeded in preventing, through two suspensions obtained in amparo (specialized protection), the seeding of transgenic soy for 253,500 hectares in Campeche, Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi, Veracruz, and Chiapas. 59 organizations of beekeepers, environmentalists, and NGO´s have maintained that the amparos (or protections) granted by the second district court of Campeche, are setting a precedent to continue demanding the definitive suspension of permits that have been issued by SAGARPA to Monsanto. The organizations added in their press release communication that they will not cease in their fight for production that is free of transgenic interference. They have been encouraged greatly by the recent Felipe Carrillo Puerto council, which approved the initiative to declare its territory a “GMO-free zone”.

Five Reasons Monsanto’s ‘Science’ Doesn’t Add Up How long can Monsanto ignore the mounting actual scientific evidence that their technology is not only failing to live up to its promises, it’s putting public health at risk? To hear the pesticide and junk food marketers of the world tell it, anyone who questions the value, legitimacy or safety of GMO (genetically modified organisms) crops is naïve, anti-science and irrational to the point of hysteria. But how long can Monsanto ignore the mounting actual scientific evidence that their technology is not only failing to live up to its promises, it’s putting public health at risk? Jim Goodman, farmer, activist and member of the Organic Consumers Association policy advisory board, recently wrote about Monsanto’s deceptive use of the expression “sound science.” But, ‘sound science’ has no scientific definition.
