Sleeves, Necklines, Collars, and Dress Types I’ve recently ventured into drafting patterns starting from my basic bodice and skirt sloper. The fit issues are minimal, since the sloper is made skin tight. Design ease is added as you go along. I found these reference pictures useful for ideas on basic sleeves, necklines, collars, and dress types. Perfect Summer Bangle Here's a fun tutorial on how to make a message bangle that's one-of-a-kind, done in the sun, waterproof and weatherproof. Even after several trips to the beach, it won't fade or wash off! Essentially, it's the Perfect Summer Bangle. Used in this tutorial: Inkodye Red Jean Paul Gaultier - Designer Fashion Label After working for Pierre Cardin and Jean Patou, Jean Paul Gaultier set out on his own to create a womenswear line. The label’s gender-bending, deconstructed aesthetic, and risqué collaborations—like Madonna’s infamous cone-shaped bra for the 1990 Blonde Ambition tour—gave the designer his “enfant terrible” reputation. He’s also known as one of the industry’s master tailors, with a knack for tuxes, trenches, and leather, and a tendency to embrace equestrian, military, and royal tropes—all with a sense of fun. In addition to the clothes, Gaultier created a successful fragrance line packaged in his signature torso-shaped bottles. His first couture collection didn’t come until 1997, but has been critically acclaimed since its beginnings.

DIY Rosemary Foot Soak & Olive Oil Scrub So I got this crazy thought, that it might be nicer for me (and my fellow gym-goers) if my feet got a little extra attention. You know, every once in a while. I find it really challenging doing anything to my feet during winter, since they're tightly shoved into boots all the time anyway. I should, though, and it would be so easy to just do while I watch some tv show I'm gonna watch anyways! So, I've noticed a few articles about using epsom salt in foot soaks, and started digging. Turns out it will soothe aches, eliminate smells and softens up rough skin.

Sadhu Two sadhus near Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu, Nepal. A sadhu in Kathmandu, Nepal. Naga sadhu in Pashupatinath temple, Nepal Sadhu in Pashupatinath diy When I was in China last summer, I remember noticing that most girls had ponytails tied with a scrunchie with bunny ears. I could never pull this off, but thought it was adorable, and kept it in mind for an Easter DIY. It's a great way to use fabric scraps, a simple accessory to wear at an Easter party, and a sweet Easter gift for a little girl. When I was done with the DIY, I saw that there was a similar one on YouTube. Since it's done, I'm still posting my version, but if you would rather follow video instructions, then just hop on over to Ann Le's video tutorial. Also, I wanted to take a picture on myself to show the final result, but I really REALLY look awful these days, as a result of that never-ending sickness and tiredness.

DIY Chan Luu Bracelet « My goal this holiday season was to really try my best to make some homemade gifts. So far I’m doing pretty well with my wreath, some burlap covered candles, some personalized coasters and this past weekend I gave a try at some jewelry. You may have noticed how wrap bracelets are everywhere lately. Chan Luu bracelets are extremely popular these days. Ulyana Sergeenko Ulyana Sergeenko is a rising fashion designer from Russia. Give Your Shampoo a Lift with a Little Baking Soda » Eco Baking soda is most often used for deodorizing refrigerators and, of course, baking. This multi-tasker also has medicinal uses, can scrub your tub and – surprise! – can be used to green up your beauty routine. While some people swear by ditching the shampoo all together and using baking soda instead, my trial of that last year didn’t go so well. I so wanted it to work, so I could really simplify my routine and pare down the number of products I use. Unfortunately, my scalp’s just plain too oily for that.
