Our planet's magnetic field is in a constant state of change, say researchers who are beginning to understand how it behaves and why. Every few years, scientist Larry Newitt of the Geological Survey of Canada goes hunting. He grabs his gloves, parka, a fancy compass, hops on a plane and flies out over the Canadian arctic. Not much stirs among the scattered islands and sea ice, but Newitt's prey is there--always moving, shifting, elusive.

Magnetic polar shifts causing massive global superstorms - by Terrence Aym - Helium
Created on : February 04, 2011 Last Updated : February 06, 2011 NASA has been warning about it…scientific papers have been written about it…geologists have seen its traces in rock strata and ice core samples… Now "it" is here: an unstoppable magnetic pole shift that has sped up and is causing life-threatening havoc with the world's weather. Forget about global warming —man-made or natural—what drives planetary weather patterns is the climate and what drives the climate is the sun's magnetosphere and its electromagnetic interaction with a planet's own magnetic field.Panic stations! The Earth's magnetic pole is inexplicably shifting, creating unstoppable forces generating monster storms which we have seen at the beginning of 2011. There is evidence that a cycle of super-storms has started, the latest being the gigantic ice storm across North America. Is this the beginning of a new Ice Age?Flood-affected regions in February 2011 - Sri Lanka - Google Maps
VOA News 18/02/2011: "The United Nations reports more people displaced by devastating floods in Sri Lanka are returning home now that the rains have stopped and the floodwaters are receding. Nevertheless, UN officials report hundreds of thousands of people are in dire straits and in urgent need of assistance. The devastating floods, which struck eastern Sri Lanka in mid-January affected about one million people and made more than 400,000 homeless. The victims barely had time to start recovering, when they were hit by a second wave of flooding in early February. This time 1.2 million people were affected and another 400,000 displaced. UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sri Lanka, Neil Buhne, says these two disastrous events have completely overwhelmed peoples’ coping capacities.Magnetic Polar Shifts Causing Massive Global Superstorms - Salem-News.Com
Jan 2011 - That location in the sky has slowly drifted westward because of something called "precession" -- the earth continually wobbles (a scientific term for a slight motion) every 26,000 years. 2009 - Russian scientists warn that the West’s “obsession” with manmade Global Warming is a deliberately designed propaganda effort to shield their peoples from the fact that Earth is or nearing a “total pole reversal” due to an as yet unexplained, but extremely powerful, gravitational force emanating from the outer reaches of our Solar System SCIENTISTS LOCATE NEW RADIATION BELT AROUND EARTH composed of particles known as anomalous cosmic rays, the result of the sun's interaction with tenuous gas that exists between the stars in the Milky Way galaxy..
