How do you craft an exceptional life? - Positive Thoughts. How do you craft an exceptional life? Ultimately, life goes by in a blink. And too many people live the same year 80 times. Life Check: What Are Your Life Patterns? Recently I watched a video of Ray Kurzweil’s presentation on TED where he explained the exponential growth of technology. The number of transistors in a chip, for instance, increases exponentially over time. As a result, projects like Human Genome Project took much less time to complete than the initial expectation. There is a statement in the video that interests me. Kurzweil said that while a single technological event seems chaotic, as a whole those events reveal a clear pattern. In this case, the pattern is exponential growth. I believe a similar thing happens in life.

The problem is we often take single events too seriously. What you should do is looking for the patterns in your life. So do a life check by looking for your life patterns. 1. I wrote previously that passions are essential for achieving success. Looking at your life patterns will help you find your passions. What were the moments that make you excited?

This list is on my favorite subject and while the length of these lists makes them quite a challenge to make, this particular subject is one I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about and writing goals in so its a great topic for me to tackle in a list. The items were actually fairly easy to come up for me without any research or added web surfing, but the real effort was then in putting a short description or example for each.

Anyway, I’m thrilled to have this list completed and can’t wait to experience and see the results of personally doing every single one on the list. That is the challenge I made for myself and I hope you challenge yourself with some or all of these items as well. 1. Smile 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. People have car trouble all the time. 7. 8. 9. I consider them fundamental for the whole diurnal experience. What you do in the very first moments of your morning will fundamentally and inexorably shape your entire day.

Most of the time you spend your mornings by routinely performing some habits, on auto pilot. Hence, your days will routinely unfold towards you, the same way day after day, on auto pilot. Undoing the Worrying Habit Once acquired, the habit of worrying seems hard to stop. We're raised to worry and aren't considered "grown up" until we perfect the art. Teenagers are told: "you'd better start worrying about your future". If your worries aren't at least as frequent as your bowel movements, you're seen as irresponsible, childish, aimless. That's a "responsible adult" game rule. To the extent that worrying is learned/conditioned behaviour, it can be undone.

Centuries-old cultural conditioning has given us a nasty neurosis: the belief that happiness must be "earned". Laid on top of the first neurosis is the idea that spending money will make you happy. So: we never stop working, we never stop spending money, we're never really happy – ideal conditions, coincidentally, for a certain type of slave economy. You won't stop worrying if you think it serves you. The fight-or-flight response (FOF) is useful on rare occasions of real danger. Worrying is never useful. 15 Styles of Distorted Thinking - StumbleUpon.

Probably the most important component to demanding your joy is learning to take excellent care of yourself – mind, body, and spirit. Think of caring for yourself as if you were your own child – giving to yourself at least as much as you give to others.

You are worth it! Like joy itself, self-nurturing comes in many little bits. Here are 100 of those bits for your consideration. This is not a checklist – only a list of suggestions. Please take the ones that speak to you and ignore the rest. Put a post-it on your mirror that says, “You look beautiful!” OK, that’s more than 100.
