The agreement was to keep on talking to try to reach a deal by 2010. It was a diplomatic triumph, achieved after rows and high dramas, but it leaves all nations a mighty hill to climb. There is no agreement on what emission cuts need to be made by when or by whom, and the US is still deeply reluctant to do anything. It is a roadmap with no signposts. Some were optimistic that a start had been made; some said that the earth's ecological situation was in a far more perilous state than had been thought. But who are the people who can bring about change, the pioneers coming up with radical solutions? The (En)Rich List. Hi Claire.

The (En)Rich List

Thanks so much for your observations. Gender-bias has been at the top of our discussions in developing this list. Despite dramatic increases in global connectivity, the diversity of influences on Post Growth Institute members is understandably limited. The list is our Top 100 based on this limited experience. We expect that, with time, it will evolve, just as we imagine that this list is more progressive than it would have been had we written it 20 years ago.

We have included many historical figures who helped start the discussion and debate about sustainability and limits to growth. Five of the seven Post Growth team members who created this list are females. Likewise, our list has mostly white people from “rich, Western countries”. We hope that a look beyond the surface will reveal the (En)Rich List as a step towards greater equity. We’re delighted to read your comments because we want this list to promote ongoing conversations. Jen and the Post Growth Institute team. Frédéric Lordon. Hussonet portail Michel Husson.
