Homemade oddball doll. DIY Monday: Funny Bunny Plush Doll. I had so much fun creating this quirky little bunny doll.
I'm planning to gift this to Jeremy's niece, Isabella, for Easter. I looove Easter, but I've never been a fan of traditional Easter colors. This plushie can easily be adapted into lots of different animals or you can even make a cute bunny family! Anyway, here goes... I stitched this plush up in about 2 hours from %100 recycled materials (minus tread)! Step 1: Cut 2 pieces each of these two measurements (inches). Step 2: Begin stitching details on your plush's face (One of the 7x8inch rectangles). Step 3: Complete details on the face with machine and/or hand stitching and buttons. note: buttons are not safe for babies, they can be substituted for felt appliques! Step 4: To stitch together your bunny's head; stitch, reverse and stuff ears (example below) stitch the face together with the facial features facing down (insider) and the ears upside down on the inside. Ah..that's what I was missing. Mystery solves. Some tips for beginner:1) To get you started, a threads in your color, scissor, needle, buttons, filling polyester, two pairs of gloves2) I order my gloves through HarborFreight.com - $2.50 for 6 pairs of socks (unbeatable)3) Buy the book - $12.95 (order through my site Amazon.com side bar to continue support softiescuties blog)4) Not sure if you want to do a big project yet, here is couple free tutorial from the same book at Martha Stewart site:- Bunny-Dog-Martha Stewart video 5) Sewing tips, I prefer to sew the buttons before I sew shut the opening.6) Simple and easy project, yet very rewarding.

Directions: 1 Pin the head, body, hand, arm, and leg patterns to the relevant fabrics. 2 Lightly transfer the face markings onto the right side of the flesh-colored face piece. 3 With right sides together, pin, baste (tack), and machine stitch together the front and back head and body pieces. 4 With right sides together, aligning the raw edges, lay the back body on top of the front body. 5 With right sides together, pin, baste (tack), and machine stitch each hand to an arm.
