2 Ingredient ICE CREAM without an ice cream maker! Magic Custard Cake Recipe | Magic Custard Pie. Update! A Chocolate version of this magic custard cake. Get the Chocolate Magic Custard Cake Recipe Here When I saw a magic custard cake recipe on Pinterest two weeks ago, I was floored. I mean, it left me in a state of delicious shock that something so simple could create an incredible piece of dessert. It looked so easy and like magic, it separated into three layers: a cake layer on top, a custard layer in the middle and another dense cake layer on the bottom. I was so obsessed with this cake but couldn’t get to making it because we were so busy with back to back shoots and a White Party (more on this later).

For two weeks, my obsession grew for this cake and I stalked Mabel’s site everyday and with the help of Google Translation, was able to follow almost every word and praise from her readers. So, to make up for all the years of being void of this wonderful magic custard cake, I inhaled two slices in one sitting. Be still my heart, I love this cake so much. Recipe Index. Mom, Please! Eggnog Snowflake Linzer Cookies. Today I’m going to share with you my interpretation of a very popular Austrian Christmas cookie. Because as you can see from the title of this post I’ve made a *few* dreamy alterations to the traditional recipe and added my own holiday spin if you will. You could think of Linzer cookies as baby Linzertortes which are traditionally made using ground almonds and filled with black currant or seedless raspberry preserves. The only major distinction between the two, other than the obvious size, is that instead of a lattice crust which adorns the Linzertortes, the tops of Linzer cookies have a small round cutout in the center to make the preserves visible, better known as Linzer “eyes”. So for my Linzer Cookie version I opted to swap out the almonds for pecans, and replace the traditional preserve filling with an eggnog glaze, oh and the “eyes” on my linzer cookies are in the shape of a snowflake.

Nutella-Stuffed Brown Butter + Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies {my favorite cookie ever} Sep 06 I know that the title of this recipe is a little absurd and dramatic, but I couldn’t think of any other way to present this cookie to you. This video doesn’t include the stuffing of the nutella, but it’s still fun to watch how they’re made. These cookies came about when my friend asked me to bake something that he could bring to an event he was going to.

So off to the grocery store I went, where I proceeded to pace the baking aisle for a good hour. Then I realized that there is one delicious little nut butter that isn’t featured in any of my recipes: NUTELLA! Once I got home, I popped the jar of Nutella in the fridge so that it would be easy to scoop out and place in the middle of the cookies. If you aren’t familiar with how to brown butter, I’ve created a step-by-step tutorial for you. The best part? Imagine: Warm. I hope you’ll try them out! Comments. I’ve always heard it gets unbearably hot, but figured it couldn’t be that bad since so many people still live here! Well, its only mid May and the temperatures are already exceeding the hottest summer days in Ottawa. I’m starting to get a little nervous. When it gets this hot out, all I want to eat are frozen treats. Ice cream, popsicles, smoothies, even frozen fruit… you name it, I want it! My mind was blown when I finally discovered frozen banana ice cream. In two days I’ve already eaten through two batches of vegan cake batter ice cream.

That’s when it hit me, avocados! I was unsure if it would react the same way as bananas, so I put half in a container in the freezer as an experiment and divided the rest between two glasses. I also didn’t have popsicle sticks so I hunted through the kitchen to find something equivalent. After everything froze, I took the popsicles and the container out of the freezer.
