Sushi 101: How to Make Sushi Rolls Note: If you missed Class 1, click here. Printable Recipe – California Rolls Sushi rolls are all I ever want in a sushi restaurant, not that I ever go to sushi restaurants, but still. During the course of our sushi unit here on PW Cooks, we’re going to learn to make several different sushi rolls, each increasing in both complexity and decadence. But today we’re starting with one of the most basic sushi rolls: The California Roll. Brazilian Lemonade This is my most favorite drink. Ever. Maybe I’d feel differently if I drank (as in alcohol), but there is nothing I love more than a warm, breezy afternoon and a pitcher of Brazilian lemonade. I didn’t try it for a long, long time because I was very put off by putting sweetened condensed milk in with citrus fruit. It seemed very wrong.

Honeybee Chocolate Cake The honeybees on this cake aren't exactly biologically correct. Nigella, their inventor, describes them as 'Disneyfied'. I have to admit I picked this cake because they're cute. I also chose this cake because I'm addicted to honey at the moment. I go through eating phases, particularly at breakfast. make-your-own-pizza party - hollywood housewife When we have the whole extended family at the lake each July, we each take a night to provide dinner, because otherwise trying to coordinate dinner for 25 people every evening is too arduous. This year my sister-in-law did a make-your-own-pizza dinner and it was so genius that I blatantly stole the idea and had one of my own over the weekend. It's so easy, and great for groups. Here's how I did it: After rolling out a big 'ole sheet of butcher paper onto my kitchen island, I plunked all the ingredients right on top and wrote the instructions on the paper.

King Arthur Flour – Baking Banter - StumbleUpon Love brownies. Love their shiny, flaky top that shatters into micro-thin shards that shower onto your fingers as you eat. Love their dark, gooey center. Their “chocolate nirvana” flavor. Sometimes can’t deal with the bake, wait to cool, cutting into squares messiness and fuss of brownies. Kitchen Hack: One-Minute Bread - Stepcase Lifehack Oven-fresh bread is one of life’s simple joys. Ciabatta, a crisp-crusted Italian bread with hints of sourdough and loads of crannies longing for butter, is one of the easiest breads to make at home. Why are we talking about baking bread on Lifehack? Because kitchen hacks aren’t just impressive, they often have very tasty results! In this instance, I’m going to show you how to make ciabatta with less than one minute of prep time. How is that possible?

How to Make Pizza Without Dough I was getting kind of sick of ordering delivery pizza (this happens at least 2-3 times a month). It was time to put a spin on gourmet pizza, but I just didn't know what it would be. Without pizza dough or an oven that is capable of creating the perfect pizza crust (I don't have an oven that can go up to a 1000 degrees), I decided I would use potatoes instead. This recipe is elegant enough to serve at a dinner party, but easy enough that you can cook it within 5-15 minutes. For 4 small, personal sized pizzas 4" in diameter, you will need:

How to Make Crêpes Without a Crêperie A brief tutorial on how to make crêpes at home, no crêperie required. Just you, your stove and a bit of batter and you’ll have a plate full of thin pancakes in no time at all. I’ve always wanted to live abroad, even if just for a short time. While the dream of leaving and exploring was there, the reality was and is that I remain fully rooted in the Midwest. In college I was a single parent. In order to declare my Spanish major, I had to get the mandatory study abroad waived. Rather than live somewhere new and explore, I sat in my apartment and cooked, dreaming of leaving.

Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread I’m sorry. I know it’s Monday morning and you probably came here for some pretty pictures of food that you could glance at, and then move on with your day… and here I go thrusting warm, soft cinnamon sugar bread in your face. It’s not fair. I know it’s not fair. I know that now you’re craving cinnamon rolls, and cream cheese frosting and chili fries and hot dogs. Green Tea Chocolate Balls It's a simple recipe to make green tea flavored chocolate balls, using white chocolate. Design*Sponge » Blog Archive » in the kitchen with: mowie’s meringue tarts Food blogger Mowie K wrote earlier this year about unearthing his grandmother’s notebook of recipes. Since he comes from a long line of bakers, I could only imagine Mowie’s excitement at discovering such a treasure. I also thought it might be a great opportunity to find something fantastic for In the Kitchen With readers. Instead of using a cherished family recipe directly, Mowie developed a show-stopping dessert for us that combines his favorite meringue with the strudel that so reminds him of his grandmother.

Watermelonade Recipe at Epicurious photo by Roland Bello yield Makes 1 gallon (serves 16) active time 30 min Cheeky Kitchen » Slow Cooker Gooey Chocolate Cake I’m meeting a new friend for lunch today. And an old friend for line-dancing tonight. And I’m feeling rather spoiled about it all. I mean, moms shouldn’t have TWO social events on the calendar for the same day, should we? Which brings me to the point of what moms should be doing anyway. For a long time, I measured myself by what I remember of my own mom.
