Shimmery Santa Baby Cocktail

See my privacy policy for details. The Shimmery Santa Baby cocktail is pretty and delicious! I have had this cocktail on my mind ever since the purple shimmery liquor made it’s appearance at my 40th birthday party. Actually, I didn’t have this specific Shimmery Santa Baby Cocktail on my mind, but I liked the concept of sparkly liquor. I mean, come on, my nickname IS Magpie, right? However that purple stuff did NOT taste good. This tastes like strawberries – and to be honest you could use any red liquor from cinnamon to raspberry, the choice is up to you. It is completely tasteless and edible, it’s used on cakes all the time and it rocks.

Chocolate Cherry Scones

See my privacy policy for details. My goodness, I can’t remember the last time I baked scones! I adore scones, I am one with scones, yet it’s been…. months? It was time to fix that! Chocolate cherry scones were the solution. The recipe will be at the end as usual for you to print, but I wanted to walk through how to make perfect scones again with you all. First, take your entire batch of dough and shape it into a log. Second, divide the log according to what the yield is. Make sure all the pieces are the same amount of dough. Flatten each piece by turning it onto it’s side then smooshing it down with the palm of your hand, into six inch disks like shown below.

Make sure each disk is relatively the same thickness from the outside edge to the middle, do not make thin edges. Cut each disk into six evenly sized pieces. Place on the baking sheet and you are ready to go!

Beefy Pasta Puttanesca Soup

See my privacy policy for details. I absolutely love pasta Puttanesca. It has a little bit to do with the fact that supposedly it came about from Italian “ladies of the night” that used to make the pasta between customers or, as it is also rumored, concocted this dish to lure customers in with the intoxicating scent of this garlic based tomato sauce. Sure, I love a good story, I’ll admit it. But add in capers, anchovies and black olives…well. To be honest, the best puttanesca I have had was here in Edmonton at Cafe Amore. Chocolate Banana Buttermilk Bundt Cake

See my privacy policy for details. I wasn’t sure how this banana bundt cake was going to shake down, but how bad could it be? Vanilla, banana and chocolate all go together in a banana split, right? And the buttermilk gives it a tang that helps cut the sweetness. I’m pretty sure that banana buttermilk bundts will be happening in my house more often that not! When I am desperate to bake something, whether it’s because I need: a) the stress relief of baking something, anything just let me bake!

B) a sweet tooth fix c) both are the same thing, no?
