I am already beginning to ponder my gifts for the upcoming holiday season. I remembered thinking to myself last year that I wish I had begun in August, so I could relax more during December! Last year, one of the gifts I gave my gal pals was a Homemade Pumpkin Pie Body Scrub and this year it will be a Whipped Shea Butter Body Scrub . I cannot even adequately describe to you how much I love this stuff (and I am 100% positive it is gluten-free!). I live in an arid climate at high altitude and if one is not careful, you can easily begin to resemble one of the many species of reptilian critters that live in my backyard (or in my house). Meet Quincy, my 10 year old Australian Bearded Dragon (she loves to look at herself on the computer).

http://www.bystephanielynn.com/2010/05/my-favorite-vanilla-brown-sugar-body.html I have another homemade scrub to share today as part of the 'Projects for Mom' series. If you have missed the previous three projects for easy and quick Mother's Day treats you can find the links at the end of this post. This is my favorite body scrub. {not just because it is yummy Brown Sugar and Vanilla either} It's the perfect exfoliate for your heels, knees and elbows and great for your tan legs in the summer time too. You want to begin by mixing 2 Cups of Brown Sugar and 1 Cup of Granulated Sugar together until there are no lumps. Add in 1 Cup of Sunflower Oil and 1 Tablespoon of Pure Vanilla Extract.

Under The Table and Dreaming: My Favorite Vanilla Brown Sugar Body Scrub...

http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/brown-sugar-body-scrub Update: You can keep this sugar scrub much longer than 3 months, as I previously said (see comments). You can keep this stuff as long as 6-9 months. Several reasons for this: 1) the oil* will have a long shelf life and help preserve the sugar, 2) honey is a natural antibacterial and will also protect the sugar.
