Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies
***Last Friday night, Brad and I got an invite to an impromptu dinner party...What fun! We were both excited, and of course, I immediately started to think about what I could take along for dessert. I was in the mood for cookies, but not the same-ole', same-ole' variety. I wanted to try something new, but using the ingredients that I had on-hand was a necessity. A trip to the grocery store was not in the cards if I wanted to be on time. So, I began browsing through cookbooks and blogs for just-the-right recipe.

How To Mix Chalkboard Paint in Any Color
We love using chalkboards as backdrops for displays and parties (like this one here!). So we were super excited to learn that you can create your own custom colors-and it's really easy! We first learned how from Martha Stewart whose tutorial you can read here. She recommends that you use latex paint, but we tried it out with acrylic paints with much success. Here's how you too can create your own chalkboard paint...

Under The Table and Dreaming: DIY Faux Curled Rosewood Wreath {Made From Rolled Recycled Book Pages}
I have seen various versions of Faux Rosewood Wreaths in just about every store and catalog for the upcoming season; most with a price tag running upwards of $40 or more. Some are crafted of paper and other of real wood shavings. Last year I made a few rolled flower gift toppers from recycled book pages and they remind me so much of the curled wood roses I thought they would make a good substitute. {with a much lower price tag} Materials Needed:Foam Wreath FormRecycled Book PagesLots of Hot GlueRibbon to Hang

How to make your own deodorant
My weekend of celebrating with the folks was excellent. And sure enough, my mom (known to many of you as Grandma G) embarked on a DIY deodorant project. She came across someone selling homemade deodorant nearly a year ago, tried it out, and found that it actually kept stinkiness away better than store brands. Plus most popular brands of deodorant contain aluminum, so if you can avoid stuffing metal into your pores, that seems like a good idea. After using a few types of natural deodorants and figuring out which ingredients she prefers, Mum decided to make her own.
Words as Images by Ji Lee
Whenever we read a news story, book, letter, or any other form of text our brain relates specific words with previously seen images. By accessing our past memories, like a hard drive, our brain is able to create a visual illustration simply out of words. Taking this one step further, Ji Lee eliminates the need for our brain to do this process. Ji Lee takes popular words and brings them to life by adding a sense of character, fun and playfulness to them.
Splendor: Make Your Own Pinwheels
So, I found these on Kim's blog a while back and bookmarked them waiting for when I had a good reason to make them. Well that time has come my friends. Im having a trunk show for the Splendor Shop this weekend and I want the table set up to be along the lines of whimsical and vintage. Cue the pinwheels. Oh my word are these not just so adorable. They seriously just brighten up any room.
Nutella Cinnamon Rolls
As you can probably guess I am an avid reader of MANY food blogs. I love them! And right now most of my favorite food bloggers are posting about healthy recipes. I think the sentiment is, "we ate too much for Thanksgiving so let's take a break and make something light this week."
How To Make a Coffee Body Scrub— Skin Care Treatment - StumbleUpon
The coffee we all love so much has many uses beyond just waking us up in the morning. One of those uses is to create a coffee body scrub. It’s usually just the high prices that deter us from enjoying the benefits of exfoliating body scrubs.
DIY Hand Stitching, part 1
One of my favorite crafts is hand stitching-- it's fun, addictive, expressive and relaxing :) Over the next few weeks, I'm going to share easy ways to make your own patterns for hand stitching along with some tips and ideas :) These are some samples of my past projects-- I like to draw patterns freehand and use my handwriting. However, sometimes I adapt clipart type images to make a more complicated pattern, like the sewing machine or I just stitch the outline of an image I love, like the Goonies "Hey You Guys" silhouette :) I use a Back Stitch for all my hand stitching because it's very versatile and I like the look but you can use any combination of stitches for your projects... there's lots of fun ones! Today, we're going to start with handwriting & transferring your pattern :) You will Need:
