LOVO, San Cassiano, 2013. LOVO is a space.

Spatium Yamamoto par The Principals.

Exhale Pavilion by Phu Hoang Office and Rachely Rotem Studio. Phu Hoang Office and Rachely Rotem Studio have completed an amazing installation called the Exhale pavilion for Art Basel Miami Beach 2010.

Exhale Pavilion by Phu Hoang Office and Rachely Rotem Studio

The Exhale pavilion is a dynamic, interactive environment in which evening programs such as performance art, video and DJ dance programs will occur. The site of the installation is 25,000 square feet and consists of seven miles of hanging ropes that sway with the lovely Miami breeze. Some of the ropes are phosphorescent so that their reflective surface produces a glow in the evening. When the wind reaches a particular speed, it will momentarily activate all of the adjacent ultraviolet lights, “charging” a field of glowing phosphorescent rope. Other, smaller wind speed sensors mounted at human height respond directly to users’ behavior. 25hours Hotel Zurich West. Situated in an important up-and-coming area in Zurich, the 25hours Hotel Zurich West finds itself right by the highest building in Switzerland in the city’s trendy quarter.

25hours Hotel Zurich West

Behind the design and development of the property is Zurich designer Alfredo Häberli Design Development, together with Aeberli Vega Zanghi Architects and Stefanie Häberli-Bachmann, who mixed some of his best known products with fresh ideas that were strictly for 25hours. The interior is anything but boring with it’s brightly colored textiles, unique lighting, and super fun accents placed throughout. Each 25hours hotel is unique and tries to connect with its location and the Zurich location does just that with its “own little wink and a dip in the paint jar.” Full of artistic touches, textures, and patterns, there’s always something to look at and they encourage you to change your perspective as you’ll always be pleasantly surprised with your view.

Weekend Inspiration: The Best Backyard Tents. Summertime is tent time. Pitching a tent for a night under the stars on a sultry July evening brings back memories of many summers of camping in Northern Ontario, Canada. But tents are not just for camping anymore, and there are a wide range of companies making stylish tents, tepees, yurts, and pavilions.

Find a spot in the garden for yours. Style it with cushions and carpets to create a casbah — or go native, and pitch one near a fire pit. Whatever your style, a tent is a perfect, inexpensive way to create an outdoor room that will be used again and again for romantic evenings under the stars. The gentle drumming sound of rainfall is one that many of us find soothing, but it is a natural phenomena that we can only experience at a safe distance without suffering the consequence of being drenched. With their one-of-a-kind installation, Rain Room, the designers at rAndom international made what you thought was impossible possible—presenting anyone who is curious for a new sensation with the opportunity to fully experience standing unprotected in the rain without ever getting wet.
