The Ultimate Travel Hacking Guide - StumbleUpon Referring to this quote: "On our example, this doesn't work because we are going from the United States to England and the English Pound is worth more than the US dollar. Additionally, the Iceland Krona is not worth less than a dollar. However, if we were going the reverse way, this would work. I've used this method when flying to New Zealand since their currency is worth less than the US currency."
100 little things that travel has taught me Travel has been one of my most valuable teachers. Rather than sit in a classroom and learn about the world through a someone else’s eyes, I did it through adventures and misadventures, tears and laughter. I know I still have so much to discover, but here are some lessons that sometimes I had to learn the hard way. Some of them I already kinda knew, some I are silly, some are serious, some are obvious, and some are embarrassing. Maybe this collection will help open up new doors in your own life and own travels, and although we will all learn our own lessons, I hope maybe I will help someone avoid some of my mistakes (example: #14). Happy travels!

Cheapest cities in Europe in 2014 - 51 major European cities by price Europe continues to be home to many of the world’s most expensive cities, as well as some bargain cities where many things cost only about a quarter as much for an international traveler. Now in its 6th annual edition, the Europe Backpacker Index ranks 56 of the continents most popular cities from cheapest to most expensive. With very few exceptions, the inflation rate in Europe was virtually 0% during 2015, and in some cases prices actually came down during the year. This year’s rankings are similar to the previous version except for some fairly dramatic shifts in exchange rates in a few areas. If you have US dollars then every city on the list got cheaper in 2015 due to the strengthening of the greenback, so 2016 is an excellent year to see places you’ve been putting off. Those holding Canadian or Australian dollars, just to name a couple, are less fortunate with the exchange rate situation, unfortunately.
How to Plan an Awesome, Last-Minute Vacation on the Cheap - StumbleUpon I lived in Colorado for most of my life, so when I moved to Southern California when I was 14 and my dad bought my whole family annual passes to Disney, it was the greatest thing in the world. I've purchased an annual pass every year since (been here 7 years). I love that place to death I watched all the Walt Disney shows on TV when I was a kid.
How to plan a round-the-world trip - travel tips and articles Itʼs the ultimate trip: circumnavigating the planet, and stopping off wherever takes your fancy. Great for travellers who want to see it all, or who are just plain indecisive. But booking a round-the-world (RTW) trip can be a complex business. Hereʼs our guide to getting started. Should you buy Europe train tickets in advance: Yes, here's how to save Most things in the world of travel tend to change at a glacial pace if they ever change at all, but trains in Europe have totally changed their booking systems in the past handful of years, and a new strategy is critical. Only a few years ago I wrote a post on this topic and the advice was that you usually DON’T benefit from buying European train tickets in advance, and now the advice has reversed. The short version of the story is that nearly all European countries now price their intercity train fares similar to how budget airlines operate. This means that the fare starts off very cheap when it first goes on sale (between 1 and 6 months in advance), and the fare keeps going up as more seats are sold. As a result, you’ll often pay a fortune if you try to buy just before the train leaves, while tickets can be amazingly cheap if you book very early. European train fares are very cheap early, and expensive on travel day

Edinburgh Military Tattoo - packages Set against the spectacular backdrop of the floodlit Edinburgh Castle, almost a thousand musicians, pipers, drummers, singers and dancers perform at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the cobbled Esplanade. Each year some of the most memorable highlights are the stirring performances of the Massed Pipes and Drums and the Massed Military Bands that emerge from the huge castle gates playing the stirring battle tunes of Scotland's famed regiments. Add to this the spectacular displays from the many overseas performers who bring music, action and colour to the event in Edinburgh and you have a winning blend that always keeps the Tattoo fresh, exciting and alive, even for the many faithful fans who return here every year. This unforgettable spectacle is brought to an emotional and poignant close each evening as a lone piper, spotlit high on the castle ramparts, plays a haunting lament. Taste of the Tattoo
