A speech that will be ‘remembered for a long, long time’ Lisa Macuja Elizalde, as she is being introduced to the Class of 2015 of the Ateneo de Manila University. Photo by Dr. Remmon Berbaza Lisa Macuja Elizalde, the country’s most famous ballerina, addressed the graduating students of the School of Humanities and the John Gokongwei School of Management of the Ateneo de Manila University on Saturday with a speech that drew raves from graduates and teachers immediately after the commencement rites and then quickly circulated by word of mouth and on social media. It was a classic commencement speech, meeting all the needs that that form is expected to meet: It made an immediate connection with the graduating class, paid tribute to the institution the students were graduating from, teased the institution’s self-image with a well-chosen punchline, drew deep from the speaker’s personal experience, then extracted lessons from that experience for the benefit of the audience. The full text of the speech follows:

tinyurl-traditional textbooks Frank Schembari loves books — printed books. He loves how they smell. He loves scribbling in the margins, underlining interesting sentences, folding a page corner to mark his place. Schembari is not a retiree who sips tea at Politics and Prose or some other bookstore. The Hilarious (And Dead On) Celebrity Caricatures Of Cartoonist Pete Emslie When I was a kid, my favorite part of my family’s summer trips to Walt Disney World was when my parents would be released from the detaining area after they’d try to run on restaurant checks. My second favorite part, though, came when one of the artists in Frontierland would draw a cartoon caricature of me. It was usually something standard like me as a cowboy or me in a racecar, but I was always as giddy nonetheless.

Duck Duck spy's too! How can an American based co., be excluded of Prism and all those shit? Watch my pearl Still trust Duck Duck & co? by topoletta May 28

So glad this is out for anyone to use! I am so sick of google tracking me! I go onto a website with google and weeks later that company is advertizing on my computer?! How did this happen?! Google sells information! No more with the duck! (: by aaronshaunbrennan Oct 6

It resolved my problem of lazily doing a google search rather than navigating to the source I might really prefer to search first. Using most any other engine would be a step backward in terms of efficient accessibility to web resources and privacy. by tor.nelson Jul 7

I've been using DuckDuckGo for quite a while now. I started on account of their privacy policy, at the same time as installing DNT+ to block trackers. What sold me on it was the use of bangs to redirect your search to return the results from other sites. If I want to search google, google images, bing,, their thesaurus, the etymological dictionary, you tube, facebook ..., I just add the corresponding bang to my DuckDuckGo search. If you just type the bang without a search term, it will take you to the site. Even if you want to use Google for things like calculations and conversions, they will still work passing them through DuckDuckGo and redirecting to Google with a !g. by tor.nelson Jun 30

Firefox is not more an browser. It is a central personal internet handling management solution with all of its add-ons. Indeed, it has some errors, but less than others. Firefox is Web 3.0! The others want only a piece of the cake. If i wanted another bad only browser, i could do a timejump into the year 2000. by schenz Mar 30

Great search engine, and they don't track you, that is very important for me. I absolutely recommend it. by josh.bushong Feb 15

I'm trying it since I'm too Google-centric. I looked up a hard topic and got the exact right link at the top, and several correct links below it, so I was impressed. by alendar Feb 26

That is one thing I like is options. All search engines seem to have strong and weak points. Thats why I cross reference a few of them. It is also why I like collecting them. by suntzutao Dec 10
