Dalton Ghetti, 49, a Bridgeport artist, has spent 25 good years working with a razor blade, a sewing needle and a sculpting knife for carving his unique art on the graphite of pencil. The artist says: I don’t make money from it but I would love a gallery owner in England to fly me over and put on a show.

9 Social Media Infographics You Must See Infographics are the latest trend, no doubt about that. Just google “infographics” and see how many results you get if you do not believe me. People love them because infographics are easy to share and help us visualize the important elements that we desire to learn. Year in Review: The 15 Best Foreign Films of 2009 Goddamn I’m sick of making lists. Thankfully this is the last one of the year for me, and even better it’s the one I find most important. Foreign movies don’t always get the attention or the exposure they deserve, so it’s nice to have the chance to highlight the ones I think are the best. And while some folks believe the term ‘foreign films’ should only apply to foreign language films I’m tired of that artificial restraint, so this list is open to movies from any and all countries outside of the US.

Good design Back in the early 1980s, Dieter Rams was becoming increasingly concerned by the state of the world around him – “an impenetrable confusion of forms, colours and noises.” Aware that he was a significant contributor to that world, he asked himself an important question: is my design good design? As good design cannot be measured in a finite way he set about expressing the ten most important principles for what he considered was good design. (Sometimes they are referred as the ‘Ten commandments’.) Here they are. 27 Hot Drugs Facing FDA Approval in 2012 BOSTON (TheStreet) -- Here's an updated look at the biotech and pharmaceutical companies with pending FDA drug approval decisions in 2012. The calendar on the following pages (updated from when it was last published on Nov. 29) captures the most important U.S. regulatory events -- FDA drug approvals and advisory panels -- expected between January and July 2012. We Find Wildness All images from the series Fictions. 2007-2010 Between reality and fiction, the Belgian artist-photographer FILIP DUJARDIN recovers the art of collage to create a new language based on the modernist architectural tradition. A few years ago, FILIP DUJARDIN started reconstructing imaginary buildings. Staying near his home in Ghent, he searches out buildings to photograph that will supply the desired textures and edges. Back at the computer in his studio he cuts, pastes, and shapes segments from these building images and compiles them into the form that he envisioned. Artist Book Series + Daily Art And Design Blog And Creative Community - StumbleUpon I couldn’t help but direct everyone to fellow public art loving blog Street Art Utopia as they have compiled a pretty decent list of the best street art of 2011. If you are just getting into the wonderful world of pasting, spraying or making the streets a more creative place, this list is a great place to start (short of Wall and Piece). One of the best things about this genre is it’s diversity – you can decided what you find gimmicky/twee or meaningful and awe-inspiring. Street art has always been the public’s voice, and the art world has yielded success to those with great ideas and a call for change.

25 Inspirational Logos You Wish You Had Thought Of Yourself posted by Benjamin Reid with the tags: "Branding", "Logos", "Marketing" . Logos as you know them are everywhere we look – but they’re not always all that great. We see a bunch of boring logos every single day, and to be honest, the world could be spiced up some what if people took more time over their logos and paid attention to the smaller details.

fields Fields is an experimental particle field sandbox. Millions of small particles are driven by force fields, which you can move, resize and change their parameters and this way create abstract compositions. This is a remake of my older but favourite experiment. Press "RANDOM SCENE" for new scene, then click to viewport and drag thumbs to change the field parameters.
