Homemade Oreos Fact #1: I made Oreos. I didn’t think it was possible, either. Fact #2: They tasted just like the real ones.. on crack. So much better. So. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles Last weekend a friend I decided to neglect our school work and go for a hike in the snow followed by dinner and a movie at my house. I had all the ingredients on hand for some tasty Corn and Cheese Chowder which was perfect way to warm up after a cold hike. My friend said she’d be in charge of bringing ingredients for us to make dessert and I was so excited to see that she’d picked out these truffles!

La La Love You - StumbleUpon Is it weird that Valentines Day is one of my #1 favorite holidays? Especially considering the fact that I can't actually remember the last time I've had a boyfriend during this emo-as-hell day? Maybe it's just that I le love the idea of love (and that i want my life to be a magnetic fields song). But this also might stem from my preconceived ideas about living in New York. Favorite Recipes from 2011 Can you believe 2011 is almost over? Where did the year go? 2011 was a pretty great year, especially for this little blog of mine. Over the last 12 months, we have picked up lots of new friends along the way. And let me tell you–you guys are not afraid to tell me when you HATE a recipe or when you LOVE a recipe.

Linguine with Garlicky Bread Crumbs With My Husband away on a business trip for a few days this week, I kept the cooking simple. Often letting the boys choose their dinner, thankfully, a vegetable was always chosen as part of the meal since they both have been learning about eating healthy foods. I don't always indulge my little men, but with Daddy away I thought I'd be extra nice to them - and, it doesn't hurt that their desires are simpler than what I normally make. I must admit that I am a pasta lover. Cheesecake Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars What do you get when you take a cold, Northern climate dotted with a small yellow house filled with sick, lethargic kids needing lots of cuddle time from a tired, feeling under-the-weather-herself mommy? Let me tell you. You get a lot of warm, little bodies snuggling together on the blanket-laden couch drowning their sniffly worries in cheesecake stuffed chocolate chip cookie bars, PBS for Kids, and tissues.

Martha Stewarts Cookies and Cream Cheesecakes Recipe Posted by Grace Massa Langlois on Wednesday, 21st July 2010 I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t like Oreo cookies or Cream Cheesecake Cupcakes. Who could resist cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies? Not Me! Especially the double-stuffed Oreo cookie, it’s one of the best cookies for dunking into a cold glass of milk. I went out yesterday to do my weekly shop, came home, and before I was able to bring in the first grocery bag Matt was hunting for the cookies and cream ice cream.

Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes “Scalloped” is an attractive word, isn’t it? When I hear it I think of several things: first, there’s scallops, as in the seafood—totally delicious. Then there’s the scalloped shape that can live on the edge of a pair of shorts or on the collar of a woman’s blouse—always pretty and dainty. And of course scalloped potatoes also comes to mind, which carries my imagination to a land of crispy potato skins drenched in a sea of cheese and cream. I can think of no better place to exist, actually. So when I came across TK member Shelbi Keith’s recipe for Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes, I knew we were going to become fast friends.
