For The Love Of (Free) Labels Part 1 Oh yes, I just can’t get enough of them. Just search free labels on the blog and you’ll see what I mean, hehe. So to my fellow label whor hoarders out there, here’s another roundup of some of my faves for your downloading pleasure. For organizing, gift tagging, addressing or packaging just about everything– wedding-related or not.

Coolest Earth Day Craft Ideas – Crafts Made from Recycled Materials « Cans « Crafts With Earth Day will be here in just a couple of weeks. In honor of Earth Day I thought I would scour the internet looking for cool ideas for Earth Day crafts. All of the crafts that I found and have listed here are made from recycled materials. Earth Day is a special day to celebrate the Earth and to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment. And, I think making crafts from recycled materials such as the ones found here is a great way to teach children about recycling and the importance of doing that to help save our Earth.

Crafts for Men « Keywords: paper, craft, design, gift This year, I vowed to only make or buy handmade holiday gifts for my friends and family, and I've kept to it so far. But wrapping these gifts in commercial paper didn't seem to make much sense, so I wanted to create some handmade gift wrap to match. I happen to think a gift wrapped in newsprint is actually quite attractive, and love the look of text on a package, but wanted to put in a little more effort. So I came up with a cool option that's clean, masculine, and maintains the typographic look of the newsprint. Plus, it eliminates the need for any "to:/from" tags, as the recipient's name is right there in tasteful type.

Paper Wheel Candy Greetings Sep 17 by Amy Moss In the midst of an ongoing addiction to all things sugary and sweet, I designed these delightfully twee candy-shaped paper wheel greeting cards. A pretty eye-candy substitute while I attempt to kick this oh-so-nasty habit. Besides, who wouldn’t love receiving Candy? Doily Projects Delicate, intricate and just plain beautiful, doilies are the perfect fodder for holidays and weddings. But don't merely set them on tables, as these aesthetic and functional objects have long been used. Rethink them.

Lemonade Goodies: Part 2 Because you know I can’t get enough of labels (particularly the French vintage kind ), here’s a few more to incorporate bright and happy as ‘lemonade’ into your celebration. And for some Tuscan (Provence?) flair, I’m loving the garland embellished with citrus fruits. Make-up Magnet Board We all know with craft blogs that original ideas are often hard to come by, we find ideas we love and make them our own but we didn't come up with the idea ourselves. I feel like I've finally done something original here and I'm excited about it. I'll show you the finished product and then explain. Behold my Make-up Magnet Board. I have a friend who is beautiful and stylish and has always loved make-up but recently took a course that intensified her love. Her renewed interest has worn off on me and it made me remember eye shadows I'd hidden away that were gathering dust.

Gift Wrapping Ideas Last night I was wrapping up my gift for the Cold Hands, Warm Hearts gift swap by Much Love, Illy and SandyALaMode, and I realized something. I may be "crafty" but I am sort of awful at wrapping presents. I rip the paper when I'm cutting it.

embroidered book cover If you haven’t yet taken a peek at the new Dark Fairytale series, you’re in for a treat! Urban Threadsters in particular seem to love their myth, lore, and legend, and also seem to share a love of books. And who doesn’t love books? Though, I will be honest, every time I go into a used bookstore I’m secretly hoping to come across a copy of the Necronomicon with an old, tattered leather cover with intricate engravings and spooky designs.

A l'ombre du marronnier I don't care for what Facebook does to my sanity, my time or my image. Before I dive into explaining all that, please don't take this personally if you're someone that enjoys Facebook. These are simply my ideas and experiences with the site. I don't aim to be a know it all on the subject. I simply am sharing my thoughts because I don't want those of you that have seen me pop in there to wonder what happened. [our table runner was made by the very talented Heather Moore - love it! DIY Dry shampoo has been a MUST HAVE in my daily hair care routine for the past three years. I’ve gone through countless spray cans of different brands (Psst!, Tresemme, John Frieda, Garnier, Oscar Blandi, Batiste…to name a few), spending way too much for very little product. I started to use plain old baby powder, sprinkling it directly on my roots and rubbing it in, and I found that it worked just as well or even better at giving my hair added volume and combating greasiness.

women-clothing Am I about to post something on ACTUAL UCREATE? Is this a dream? No. It can't be. Accordion Fold Bow Today's bow(s) are super simple and can be made any size. If you feel like busting out some sewing skills, you can also make these from fabric (you might want a little interfacing on larger ones to help them keep a crisp shape though)! The best part is that you can alter these to make your accordion bow into a snowflake bow and then every bow is different! To start, select your paper or fabric (to get nice crisp folds in your end product and assure that it will spread nicely once open, I recommend using thinner paper rather than a card stock. Magazine paper or gift wrap would be perfect as it allows your paper to move pretty freely.
