mindmapping

A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged around a central key word or idea. Especially in British English, the terms spidergram and spidergraph are more common,[1] but they can cause confusion with the term spider diagram used in mathematics and logic. Mind maps are used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid to studying and organizing information, solving problems, making decisions, and writing. http://www.wisemapping.com/c/home.htm

SEAS is not "mind mapping" software, at least not in the context that I have come to use that term. Being largley unfamiliar with the software, but having reviewed the website fully for curation purposes, I might be inclined to include it in the category of "concept mapping" or "argument mapping" software, although neither of those phrase entirely satisfied me either. In the end, I put the link here because I discovered it through research that led me to a site entitled "Knowledge Cartography," which I encourage you to read for a deeper understanding of this topic. The site is also pearled here. by thecyberesq Mar 18

Description The MOT knowledge editor enables the user to build a visual representation of knowledge in various fields and to graphically highlight knowledge inter-relationships. A number of icons are used to represent the various types of knowledge, i.e. concepts, procedures, principles and facts, as well as the different types of relationships: composition, regulation, specialisation, precedence, input/output, and instantiation. In addition, the software integrates rules of grammar governing the types of relationships for each type of knowledge. http://www.cogigraph.com/Produits/MOTetMOTplus/tabid/995/language/en-US/Default.aspx
