Proposed paged course format changes for 2.3/2.4. Hi Martin, Back in 2009-2010 at Sussex we ran an extensive usability review of moodle (1.9 at the time), and some of the changes your document outlines our the very ones we have implemented, so it’s great to see them making it into core, and hopefully we can help by sharing some of the challenges we faced.

Proposed paged course format changes for 2.3/2.4

One of the solutions to our users (students, admin & tutors) usability issues with moodle was a paged format which we developed and deployed - it has been incredibly popular with users, so be great to see it as part of core. Some tutors still prefer to have all their content on one long page, and that's fine - they use a single section with headings and horizontal rules to semantically divide content. This summer break we plan to turn off all the scroll based formats (for consistency of user experience). Pages was a huge win with our students. 1.1 Navigation between sections. Getting Started with Moodle. Building a facebook wall style forum. My Moodle course completion. Moodle Demonstration Site. LDAP Authentification. Hi Greg, there's no difference in the GUI, only at the code level.

LDAP Authentification

In 1.9 (and below) the objectClass field value is used in some places to 'filter' the objects you get from the LDAP server. But the login code, where the user is authenticated against the LDAP server, is not one of them. This means that any user inside any of the configured LDAP contexts is able to log in (provided she has the right username/password, of course In Moodle 2.0 we've added the objectClass field value to the login code [1], as an additional 'restriction' (in addition to being in the right contexts and having the right username/password). Moodle 2.2 Details. With most the Moodle 2.2 QA testing in full swing, I thought I should do a quick post on what we can expect in Moodle 2.2, and highlight what I am most looking forward to in the release.

But first a quick word on the roadmap and QA testing. Roadmap The roadmap for Moodle is always available on the Moodle docs - and gives a good indicator of any major features which should appear in the coming release. One thing to remember is that with the new release cycle being a release every 6 months, it means that should a feature not be ready for release it will slip till the next release date so a solid version is released. This release combines a range minor tweaks improvements, bug fixes, and some significant improvements specifically in some of the underlying system.

QA Testing Most of the first run through the tests is now complete, with the any of issues found being worked on in tracker items. 2: Home. EchoSystem Lecture Capture Gets Moodle LMS Integration. Mathematics. Until there is time to integrate in to the rest of this page, the time has come to note that development of SEE (Super Equation Editor, a nickname for a set of plugins being developed by Mauno that now far outstrips the notion of a "plain old equation editor") that Colin has created a page to address those tools at Advanced_Maths_Tools (yes, Maths has an "s" which makes the page arguably undiscoverable by people in the US, but Americans don't speak English anyway.)

Why is this exciting? Because so many of the tools you (student, pupil, admin) need are handily packaged up in something that approaches a transparent and universal Mathematics interface. Yes, you can use the editor to create and modify constructions, yes you have graphing calculators, yes you have TeX and asciimathml and mathml and the list goes on and on and on.
