Pasta shapes chart: Different types of pasta mapped

Photos of Human Chameleons Blending Into Scenes Thanks to Body Paint

Italian artist Johannes Stötter has been creating similar works, except he’s more focused on the painting than the photos. Since 2000, Stötter has been using the human body as a canvas for fine art paintings. His successes in various bodypainting contests around the world have resulted in him winning world titles and being considered one of our planet’s greatest bodypainters.

In addition to creating intricate works of art on bodies, Stötter also draws detailed patterns that allow his subjects to blend seamlessly into various backgrounds (e.g. piles of stacked wood, flowers and leaves, fruits, ground, painted walls). Visual News writes that the artists painting projects sometimes take nearly half a year to plan, and then an additional eight hours to paint. You can find some more of Stötter’s work over on his website. Alexander Semenov's Photostream. Shop Links. Learn what this space is all about here. Shinichi Maruyama. Photographer Shinichi Maruyama’s new work, NUDE, uses cutting-edge technology to create elaborate images from simple origins: the naked human body. Maruyama collaborated with choreographer Jessica Lang on the series, which involved testing several dancers doing specific routines before pairing up the dancers with picture-perfect movement.

In the past, Maruyama, who was introduced to photography by an elementary-school teacher, has done a lot of work capturing motion, mostly with water. Comparing liquids to dancers, Maruyama said, “I had tried to capture single moments in my past works, but with NUDE I also considered the relationship between a moment and time. Specifically for NUDE, Maruyama created each image by combining 10,000 individual photographs of the dancers to compose a single shot. Jay Mark Johnson’s very unusual camera emphasizes time over space.

The abstract-seeming images here are not the result of some wacky Photoshopping. Jay Mark Johnson’s photos are actually incredibly precise. The reason they look like this is because he uses a slit camera that emphasizes time over space. Whatever remains still is smeared into stripes, while the motion of crashing waves, cars and a Tai Chi master’s hands are registered moment by moment, as they pass his camera by. Like an EKG showing successive heartbeats, the width of an object corresponds not to distance or size, but the rate of movement. Yes, it’s a confusing concept. This unique look is possible because the fixed-position slit camera registers only a vertical sliver of a scene.

If you are still having trouble with this idea, try cutting out a tiny slit of paper and holding it up to your eye. He says he opts for this unusual camera because he wants to hold a mirror to human nature, that expands our view of reality. More Photo Features You May Enjoy.
