4. 5. Color Theory Behind the Seasonal Color Analysis. "The Concept & Theory Behind the Seasonal Color Analysis" Gaining basic knowledge in color theory gives you a better understanding of the concept behind the seasonal color analysis, and how a coloring is assessed.

Open letter to I:CO fashion recycling. This post is an open letter and questionnaire to the I:CO clothes collecting company (and it´s partner companies) that works in many fashion retail shops taking in donated clothes and recycling them.

Open letter to I:CO fashion recycling

The following paragraphs have been copied from the I:CO website and written in to conversation form for easier reading. The post is long, I know, so bare with me. It has loads of good questions about clothes collecting and recycling as a business. I hope I:CO or some of their partner companies answer them. "The challenge" I:CO: Every year, millions of tons of used textiles and shoes are produced. NEW OBSESSION: CLUELESS LIPSTICK. Who doesn’t love Clueless?

NEW OBSESSION: CLUELESS LIPSTICK

The outfits, the heartbreak, the revolving closet, the snappy one-liners! (“You don't understand, this is an Alaïa. It's like a totally important designer.”) Here at HQ we’re all, like, totally obsessed with Cher and her crew, which is why we all rushed to buy the brand new lip colour from our make-up range when we discovered it was called ‘Clueless’! As Cher says in the movie, “Anything you can do to draw attention to your mouth is good.” So if, like Cher, your main thrill in life is a makeover, we like totally recommend you pucker up and prepare to get clueless! FASHIONABLY DISNEY. You know that we’re a tad obsessed with anything and everything fashion but we’re not sure if you know that we have a bit of a thing for Disney too!

FASHIONABLY DISNEY

One of our first fashion memories is when the singing mice make Cinderella’s ball dress with leftover ribbons and the evil sisters’ discarded green pearls so it should come as no surprise that our hearts skipped a beat when we saw Sashii-Kami’s fashion sketches of all our favourite characters. All long-legged, strong jawed and with perfect pouts of course, the princesses AND the villains have been given an extreme fashion make over. Snow-White is revamped with a pair of vertiginous 3 strap Mary Janes and an extra frilly red cardigan while Pocahontas gets thigh-high boots covered in tassels, Ariel a layered skater skirt and Cinderella a sparkly empire-line dress.

We particularly love the feminisation of the villains (including the male ones) into some sort of high fashion evil Carine Roitfeld-ish characters. GUY BOURDIN: FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY'S MASTER. Posted on February 11, 2013 Guy Bourdin was no ordinary fashion photographer.

GUY BOURDIN: FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY'S MASTER

His shoots were more likely to feature raw chickens alongside exquisite gowns than a perfectly turned out model and he was more inclined to spend hours discussing Cadillacs with the champion of surrealism, Man Ray, than be gossiping with a fashion editor. THE BEST PROM MOMENTS EVER. We can’t remember when ‘ prom ’ became a regular event here in Blighty- it was probably some time between Molly Ringwald’s Pretty in Pink and the craze for High School Musical – but we have to admit, us Brits have wholeheartedly embraced the American fascination with grand leaving balls and final year dances as our own.

We’ve covered quite an array of creative professions for our Best Job Ever series, but this one is truly awe-inducing.

Best Job Ever: Pantone’s Leatrice Eiseman, Color Specialist

Not many get to claim the dream title of ‘Color Specialist,’ but Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute and author Leatrice Eiseman does, and with — dare we say — ‘flying colors.’ Not only is she an expert resource to those in industries including interior and industrial design, but she’s also been a self-employed color consultant for nearly 25 years. Add in her authorship of eight books on color, and Leatrice’s litany of accomplishments is just about as colorful as the paint palettes she works with.
