Banana vs. Cookie. When French Toast Met Pancakes. If you ever want me to like you, just make me a light, fluffy stack of pancakes. I’ll blush, I’ll smile a lot, I might propose–it’ll be weird and cute. Promise. Just when I thought pancakes couldn’t get any better, I stumbled upon this recipe by Tasty Kitchen member frecklesandsunshine. The title: When French Toast Met Pancakes…and Fell In Love totally made me giddy with butterflies in my stomach. I was in love way before the batch was whipped up. What makes this recipe so unusual (and delicious) is how the French toast is coated in a very thin pancake batter, creating an amazing crust around the bread. Let’s dive in, shall we? You’ll need some ingredients. I used brioche because I wanted something that would be able to take the heavy batter.
In a large bowl, add the eggs and beat ‘em until they’re light and fluffy. Next, we’re just going to add all of the ingredients (minus the bread) one at a time. Skeleton Gingerbread Men Cookies | Our Best Bites - StumbleUpon. Who says gingerbread men are just for Christmas? (Really, who does say that? I’m assuming someone does) It’s time to rip off the lederhosen and get ready for a Halloween edition. First we’ll need our little cookie people. I’m calling these gingerbread men because that seems appropriate, but they are not gingerbread at at all.
This is what I started making when I whipped up the cookie dough I posted on Monday. You certainly could use our Gingerbread Cookie recipe, but I’m going for Chocolate. With one little twist. Cinnamon and Orange give these chocolate cookies a warm, spiciness that seems fitting for spooky little Halloweeny people. I’m also using royal icing. You want to start with your icing at a nice piping consistency. I switched to a larger tip for my bones (a #5) so I just started using that one for my faces as well. I know that after looking at these cookies you will all be shocked to know that I am not an expert in human anatomy.

It's festive and seasonal, easy to make in large batches, and everyone loves it. Still, every year I'm proven wrong— I've had entire boiling vats of cider knocked over, burn victims to tend to, forgotten pots left to simmer indefinitely, melted ladles, and singed costumes... and aside from all that trouble, who wants to repeatedly run into the kitchen to brew up another pot of cider? My guests tend to come thirsty, and seldom patient. This year I've vowed to go cold. See the recipe for Chilled Cider Punch » Mac and Cheese Cups - Cupcakes and Cashmere - StumbleUpon. Share this image Share It Pin It When I first graduated from college, and was living in a dreary little apartment, mac and cheese was one of my few specialties.
Granted it was straight from a box, but it was one of those meals that made me feel like I was home. I shared a gussied up truffle version a couple of years back (here), and since the Academy Awards are just days away, I thought I'd make it more party-friendly. I followed this recipe and found the bite-sized portions to be even more appealing, and were just as good served hot as they were room temperature. No Knead Bread: so easy a 4-yr old can make it! Monday, September 10, 2007 No Knead Bread: so easy a 4-yr old can make it! It’s been almost a year since NY Times unveiled the secret to the revolutionary No-Knead Bread. And while fads come and go, this certainly is a recipe that has transcended the fickleness of foodies. It’s time to revisit the bread…. as many of us have been brainwashed by this summer’s ice cream! We’ve made close to 60 loaves since last November and I’ve got to tell you, it is still one of our family’s favorite things to eat.
I firmly believe that every person should bake a loaf of bread at least once in their lifetime. No Knead Bread recipe so insanely brilliant – no sticky fingers, no doughy mess, no intricate measuring, no complicated kneading. So, without further blabbering, I’ve pimped out my son to demonstrate that baking No Knead Bread is so simple a 4-year old can do it. Of course I had to bribe him with 2 temporary tattoos. So, let’s start. 3 cups of bread flour in a big bowl. 1/4 teaspoon of instant yeast: Lollies - a little ART CANT HURT - StumbleUpon.
A perfect rainy day thing to do! The colors make any day better! How to make LOLLIESyou will need: jolly ranchers, candy sticks, parchment paper, foil & a cookie sheet 1) lay a piece of foil on cookie sheet. cover foil with a piece of parchment paper.2) unwrap candies and place side by side on parchment paper in your choice of color & flavor combinations. use three candies together for extra large lollies, and only two candies together for regular lollies.3) heat candies in oven for about 5 minutes at 200 degrees. keep a close eye on the candies and take them out as soon as they've barely melted together. if you leave them in too long they will melt too much and you won't be able to put a stick into the lollie. alter the cook time accordingly.4) carefully take cookie sheet out of oven. immediately lay candy sticks into place on melted candies. slowly twirl in melted candy to coat the stick and so it will hold in the lollie. they're hot!
