Pour ceux et celles d'entre vous qui êtes tout autant intéressés par les fleurs comestibles, je reproduis des images (de mon jardin et du jardin dans Internet, pour la plupart de Wikipedia) de fleurs comestibles, leur nom en français et en latin, et un avant-goût de la saveur qu'elles ajoutent à un plat. k Une petite mise en garde s'impose, toutefois. But those little white and silver flecks and the swirling grays, don't they make you think of snow flurries? Okay, obviously I don't know anything about snow. Actually, I don't know much about Game of Thrones, either, since I've never felt motivated to pick up a notoriously violent, plays-with-your-emotions-by-killing-everyone-you-care-about-in-an-astoundingly-Joss-Whedonesque way, still unfinished fantasy series, but I do know the phrase "winter is coming" is the motto of House Stark. And somehow there are wolves and Daenerys is the queen of dragons. Yup, that pretty much sums up what I know. I liked that it was totally something one could wear today, and in a jersey to boot! Here's how I made the pattern: After cutting and sewing my dress, I did still have to make tweaks to get the exact fit that I wanted, but the diagram above is a good starting point.

Instructions Let’s start with the gusset/handle: you’ll need four ties: (Figure 1) Lay them out like this. Join each pair side by side with a super-wide triple zigzag stitch. (Figure 2) Just feed the ties through side by side, no “right sides together” or pinning or anything. Stitch each pair together side by side halfway up. (Figure3 ) Now you have have two pairs of ties sewn together. Just do another triple zigzag over the center of each tie following the center seam on the wrong side. (Figure 4) Now place the fat ends of the ties right sides together and stitch across with a regular straight stitch. Your gusset/strap piece is now complete! Now we are going to make the pattern for the front and back of the bag. (Figure 5) Now mark a dot at the inside points between the ties. Remove the ties and connect the dots. (Figure 6) Cut this pattern out. (Figure 7) Unfold paper – Voila!

upcycle an old sweatshirt - part 1 I recently found a box of old clothes from college, 90% of which I will never wear again. I was about to throw them all in the "get rid of" box, when I realized several items could actually be reused. My little guy needs some new hats and mittens for winter, and what better material than an old sweatshirt? It's already warm and soft and stretchy! So today I'm just going to write about making the mittens - I'll post about the hats and slippers later (probably whenever I get around to finishing them... hmm...) Honestly, the hardest part of this whole project was getting my little monster to hold still enough to trace his hands. 1. I made two attempts - one with the fingers separated, outlining between each, the other more like a mitten. 2. 3. 4. Spotted Imazu Kasia Here is my latest finished project, this time Burdastyle's pattern Kasia skirt made up in our Japanese cotton Imazu Spotted Night. The pattern is fabulous and quick to sew - with very clear instructions. I've made this up for a friends daughter who's been wanting a high waisted skirt. I made no alterations to the pattern except cutting out the 38 for the bottom half of the pattern and the 36 for the top, as the pattern measures very snug at the hip.I really love the button and gathered yoke detailing on this skirt. The only decision now is long or short for the length...what do you think?
How to Sculpt a Face - Female Pg1 How to sculpt a face is always tricky at first. If you are struggling right now... don't feel bad! I was like you not long ago. Learning how to sculpt comes down to two things. Firstly, please take the time to read the article "Female Anatomy" and study the points about the anatomy of the female face. STEP 1: Roll an oval shaped ball of clay. STEP 2: Using your spoon tool or rounded tool slowly work in hollows where the eye-sockets should be. Be careful with this step. Using the rounded side of the tool will help with this matter. STEP 3: Note that the sockets are fairly deep. If you are unsure as to what depth to do the sockets, please read ahead before attempting it. STEP 4: When you a practicing how to sculpt a face, be sure to keep smoothing your work as you go. Brume d'oreiller Jeudi 11 janvier 2007 4 11 /01 /Jan /2007 10:37 Pour un sommeil enchanteur J'avais concocté une brume d'oreiller apaisante pour mes paniers de Noël dont voici la recette (chose promise, chose dûe !) Mais d'abord, pourquoi une brume d'oreiller ? parce qu'il est primordial de s'endormir dans une odeur suave et agréable parce que les HE utilisées concourent à calmer, apaiser et favorisent le sommeil parce qu'il ne faut pas manquer une occasion d'améliorer son quotidien et de se faire plaisir (ainsi qu'à la personne qui dort avec vous !) Je n'ai donc pas manqué cette occasion de faire plaisir à mes proches ... Pour la base : j'ai utilisé alcool non modifié à 90°C (40 ml) eau minérale (80 ml) hydrolat d'oranger (80 ml) vous pouvez utiliser de la vodka mais il faut multiplier la quantité par 2 car elle ne fait que 45°C, et réduire la quantité d'eau minérale en conséquence. Pour les HE, j'ai ajouté 50 gouttes au total : orange douce, fleurs et fruit (d'ici) et un sommeil enchanté ! inShare
