Aussie Pumpkin Patch: Ladybird Art Author: Kendra I don't really consider myself an artistically inclined person, but I know how much my kids love doing art projects. So I'm trying to make a huge effort to do art with them more often. I've actually purchased an art curriculum to use, but it's not officially here yet.. Anyway, I won't say I teach them any techniques considering I'm not sure I'd know if I know any myself. Friday Art Feature - I Am ... We had our first official art class of the year this week. I decided to start off with an easy one so everyone could feel successful with their project. And the final results couldn't be more beautiful in our classroom! I think I may be a tad OCD - that empty space in the bottom is driving me crazy!!! I have 23 students this year, so with room for 24 spots on our blackboard, I also plan on making an art project each time we do one.

Like clockwork, every January I start scheming about decorating with yellow or orange or something bright just to liven things up a bit. It's been a little better this year because my kitchen is south-facing and everything is white and light blue, so it feels nice and light and airy. That being said, I still think more color this time of year is great. So, the kids and I made this fun food-dye color wheel the other day.
