Varanasi is among the most historic cities of India, and also among the oldest continuously inhabited human settlements in the world. Varanasi is a symbol of Hinduism. Known to the world, Varanasi also has one the finest religious river frontage that the world has to offer. Having spent a week in Varanasi and wandering along it’s riverfront and back streets, I was able to experience the very best and worst aspect that India has to offer. My home, my toy... The fortunate families will have a brick home for themselves (and a pony too...) Venturing along the main and side streets of the town, many old women walked passed me, with loads over their heads, hardly staring up. No mirror?
